    With my own (chronological) 'expiration date' coming up anytime, this is a great reminder where in life we've been, that those we used to adore too are getting older or have passed, and those before them too lived lives as we do, each within the confines of their individual time capsules. Very thought-provoking and appreciated. Thank you.

      Thank you for such a thoughtful comment. Indeed, life reminds us that everything passes, and we are all on our own path in life, associated with a certain time frame. Your words touch my heart, and I am glad that my content provokes such thoughts and helps you look at life from a different perspective. Take care of yourself and appreciate every moment.

    We owned one of those air-cooled Renault cars in late '59-'63. My dad was a civil engineer for NASA, and having a small plane, apparently really believed in the air-cooled concept. He bought a GM Con-vair, an air cooled van, converted it to a camper, and moved his four kids & wife to California from Norfolk, VA. Then bought a VW bug and began stripping it to make a flying car...

    • @user-eb5cb6ud1p
      @user-eb5cb6ud1p 7 месяцев назад +1

      That would have been a Corvair rather than a Con-vair. GM's first (and IIRC) serious attempt to build a rear-engine car. It was a hell of a cool car to drive but they suffered from design and reliability problems. GM did a lot of work to fix their issues but by that point Ralph "Nadir" (as I call him) had launched a self-aggrandizing and eventually successful crusade to kill the car.

      @zaralunden3203.as my mom being an artist prefared drawing in black pencil and not colour because she said that colour fades quicker and drawing in black pencil or paint lasts longer.as I noticed when looking at photos from the old 1970s Polaroid cameras you had a choice of photos taken of you in black and white or colour and all the photos taken of us where in black and white and the ones taken in colour didnt last as long.im 60 years old now and I still have those photos like they were only talking yesterday.you should give it a try🎨🖼 .Happy Xmas and a Happy New YEAR To You.🎄🎉🖼🎨🇨🇮👋

    Staithes North Yorkshire, I thought there was a human leg on the ground, but then I saw it was a boot!
    The oldest known wheelie, I have seen many cars of that type, where the wheelbase was altered to get the car to pull wheelies much easier for show. But then, the car was slower in the 1/4 mile races, as the wheelie, while great for show, used up time to get down the track!

    Photo at about 30.48 with women kneeling. I think this is more likely February 29 on leap year. Bachelor's Day, sometimes known as Ladies' Privilege, is an Irish tradition by which women are allowed to propose to men on Leap Day, 29 February, based on a legend of Saint Bridget and Saint Patrick. It once had legal basis in Scotland and England.

    It's a nice collection of photographs and I like the captions with the info. But they should be presented in some sort of structure. It can be chronologically, geographically, the kind of subject or something else. Also you should credit the photographer if known. If you don't know you can say "photographer unknown".

      Nah, they are fun without structure other than they are from the past and different somehow from today.
