Yeah, most people are just all talk anyway... I gain a new respect for her after this video, it's easy to say "don't give up" when they're not the one feeling it... But then they do absolutely nothing to help you and after you recover they wanna get all the credit for it... It's absolutely disgusting

@@vallecend6855 At the same time the reverse could be said.
I know a lot of "support groups" that tell everyone that they are victims and that it's not worth the effort. They also won't help you, they only push you to give up on whatever you want to accomplish.
In sum, there's no right answer. Let individuals be individuals and make their own decision.

Thank you for the translation. Man she really had a rough start, she mentioned in the new outfit stream she’s been a VTB for almost 2 years, yet her sub count was no where close matching to her talent for the majority of that time. The sub count really starts to go up recently after she got the new l2d model and started doing collabs with other holo girls. If you can, please go subscribe to her. She is a great singer, editor, painter, chef and tetris queen. (Also has a psychopath side)

As somebody who is dealing with depression for a very long time I feel like this is very important. Sometimes pushing yourself just for the sake of going forward doesn't work and it may just make your mental health decline. It's important to take breaks from time to time and to do things that you enjoy.

I wouldn't say getting help to cure your mental sickness as "running away"
Surprised that she talked about mental health and stuffs, most of the Japanese are pretty ignorant and don't really acknowledge mental sickness
I love how she said *"Don't mind about other people, they won't pay your medical bill"* xD

    • @noirhill6200
      @noirhill6200 4 года назад +5

She never said getting help to cure mental sickness as "running away" though. I think she meant it as to stop trying. Because if you keep pushing yourself, you might break and become hopeless, who then will need therapist's help to overcome life.
I agree that most Japanese people refuse to believe in mental illness, but I think they do know it exists and they're trying to avoid it. Because if you think you are sick, you will become sick. But if you don't think at all, you can just continue to live normally. And you can lie to yourself throughout life, you can take all your pains to the grave, and you can distract yourself from negative thoughts by working your ass off.
      That was what I think.
But anyway, SUISEN QUEEN. She's hardworking, smart, talented, funny and very cute. She deserves all the love ):3

running away is one of legit way to stop overdoing yourself and protect your mental health. many stories, anime, manga said dont run away because it looks cool, but in reality it just doesnt work the same as those fictional characters. human brain is more complicated than a cool character in a story

Respect for suisei... To talk about mental health and the seriousness of it on stream where she's kinda expected to be all happy-go-lucky is admirable... Really glad she's feeling better now and hopefully it won't happen again... And i wholeheartedly agree with her sentiments on the whole process of getting better... It's the easiest thing to do to tell people to not quit or to not give up and if you do then you're a coward or whatever but the people who say those things are people who are ignorant about mental health and the importance of it or how to deal with burnouts or any other mental illnesses, would you really take any advice on how to feel better mentally from someone who doesn't even acknowledge it?... Ngl at first i thought this video was about that, suisei gonna talk about how you shouldn't quit yada yada and that's why i've been postponing to watch this video for a while and i'm really glad that she isn't one of those people and that she really gives meaningful advices and insights regarding the situation... Props to yagoo and a chan too for giving her some time off

Dang Suisei... that hits deep. This stream was before I started watching them, so I might never have watched this part, thank you Lyger as always ❤. I don't mean this in a bad or condescending way, but it's always nice to hear about the downs of other people instead of only the ups. It's very easy to think everyone else around you is infallible, that others have never gone through what you are going through, so sometimes just hearing other people talk about themselves and what they learnt from overcoming similar issues, that you could be having, really means a lot. Thank you Suisei for being human and talking about things that not many others like to walk. Time to show some support by watching the full episode.

  • @aquaventus
    @aquaventus 4 года назад +25

Its the usual depression or burning out that RUclipsrs get after doing this for a fair amount of time. Uploading videos, making videos, editing videos etc tires the person out mentally and physically, especially if they do it on a daily basis.
In a way she is luckier in that she is a VTuber, she is playing a character online instead of showing herself on the camera. And that her channel hasnt blown up to be that big yet. I've been worried since seeing half the 2nd gen and almost everyone from the 3rd gen streaming daily almost the whole day. Then they started having set times to stream, like haato and robo with their late night minecraft sessions, tho not always.
Honestly after i started watching VTubers from Kizuna to Hololive and the many in between, most of the veteran VTubers seems to drop off their releases per day slowly until they get to a stable number weekly. The more senior Hololive members seem to stream irregularly but still keeps up the schedule of 7 video per week, altho the big ones seem to rarely stream nowadays.

Well I usually have that kind of feeling whenever I am studying and training every single day. After a few months of constant mental solving, I was feeling anxious of myself. That feeling of tiredness, and I felt like I was blocked by some kind of hallucinations a lot of emotions were rushing into me. Everytime I go to class I would usually feel kind of insane my way of thinking starts to drift off to a state of constant thinking. And this kind of habit from mine by not resting a single day sent me to a disorder or anxiety. I guess you call it Insanity Disorder since every time I make a mistake I suddenly feel a massive amount of negative energy rushing into me. So I decided to rest for 3 days and I was feeling great! Took a walk on the park and just meditated on the bed instead of studying.
Although I had those times of insanity disorder it had been bugging me for a month... but I couldn’t take a long break during the last examinations so I had to keep on studying, oof... gladly I just took that on without damaging my brain cells. Like that was literally the worst thing that I had ever experienced. It was like torture instead of weighing you down due to the tiredness and constant anxiety. Aside from getting bitten by 4 crazed dogs and getting hit by a vehicle this one was triple the times of the pain. Suicide? Yes thoughts of suicide was pretty high at that time.
Note I have a lot of things to study and practice: piano, violin, programming(Java and Python), science(astronomy, chemistry, geology, physics, and meteorology), painting, mathematics(calculus, and etc...), Martial arts, and etc etc...

(Well i quit my job 5 month ago)its not i feel lazy but i work 6 hours straight and 20 min break after that work for 3 hour more everyday(except sunday), and you had to write the message that you sick 2 day before get day off and you had to slip the doctor receipt.

    Yeb, she's definitely burnout.
Everyone need to take a break from work every now and then, even the most passionate artist need a break.
But that's not the case in Japan. If you know what I mean.

unfortunately in Japan mental illness even anxiety
can be seen as bad even some companies don't employ people who has a mental illness so and because of that they prefer to ignore it or not say anything
if take a compliment is seen as bad in Japan imagine a mental illness

Nice video and a topic that needs more attention.
Props to the company for supporting her and having her 2 weeks leave for recovering.
Especially in Japan mental health isn’t that high on the agenda or get just denied 🙅‍♂️
off topic: how does those voice packs work? Do i need a special app or medium to play them?

Not sure if you read comments so I’ll post again. Thank you very much for your translation, but just one little thing, I watched Suisei’s outlast stream yesterday and it said in the little text box thing her name is Hoshimati Suisei instead of Hoshimachi. I knowちis pronounced “chi” but.... again thank you for your translation and I meant no disrespect.

Because of differences in the languages’ writing and sound systems, Japanese speakers don’t always romanize in a way that makes sense for English speakers. I prefer to use Hepburn romanization, which is better for English speakers, even if the “official” spelling is different.

Man... What she's saying is actually the opposite of what I'm doing. 😂😅
In my case, the ppl around me telling me not to run away from it cuz it's really unreasonable
It was about quitting school when I'm about to graduate. Now that I think of it, I was really stupid for even thinking of quitting school when I have 1 month left.😂😂😂😭😭😭
    +1 for her

She says it doesnt have anything to do with subscriber count or youtube but I really doubt that. Pretty sure it has alot to do with that, sounds like burnout stress.

I don't doubt it, just having to do the same thing constantly is more than enough to burn someone out. Especially jobs that have you stationary and alone.

You know when she said all that stuff in the first 40 seconds of the video......I thought those were syndromes of the boyfriend thing cause those syndromes were the exact same as what happened to this girl in a manga I read but I eventually learnt it was burnout instead. I am not trying to joke here btw.

pro-tip to the comments people saying "but the Japanese aren't supposed to know that": Perhaps you should consider as to why your reaction to this is to immediately repeat that belief rather than reevaluate it in the face of something pointing to contrary.
anyway, thanks to Suisei for the stream and lyger for the subs.

I wish that taking that long of time was easier in Japan, i heard that if you even mention taking a break, you manager look at you with disgust, specially if you are a Gaijin. I hope that when i learn the japanese, i get a good job there who respect his employees, the rat told me this year to take care with decisions of life changing.
