I had a relative that was a bus driver some years ago, they were well paid (then). when drivers/bus workers retired they bought in a new lower pay scale for the newer crew, so fair play to the strikers, yes it's affecting me but I hope they get the money out of the fat greedy bast, sorry bosses.

@@risingsheep2983 I hate and despise the government but lets not make out these bus and train strikers are living in poverty. They are living middle class lives with paid off houses and many are landlords renting out multiple houses getting rent from tenants. The pay offer was plain and simple. 14% on a 1 year deal, taking top rate drivers in Birmingham to 16.46 an hour and 16.96 in Coventry. New starters will walk in on over 14 pounds an hour on day one and all they need is a car licence as NX put you through it all. The Union keep changing the goal posts here and are making this about conditions when it’s not, we had those talks last October and agreements were made, this is about a pay deal and I don’t think 33k a year to drive buses is a bad shout

About the abuse they get, if you work directly with members of the public you will unfortunately come across some form of abuse be it physical or verbal. Myself who works in the security industry knows that and we get far more abuse than what bus drivers do and they know this before they applied for the job. Nothing will stop the abuse they get. That's members of the public for you

No transport means no trade, no shops, no clubs, no pubs, no travel or tourism. Just like a lockdown. Shops may close. Have a protest but a strike. Plus the bus companies themselves (not the government) need to give it's employees time off. 5 day week needs to come back. Problem is with the bus company itself and how it treats it's employees. Plus can't cut off transport. It is now similar to a lockdown. No transport will equal shop closures.

Both children don’t drive, so the ve had to take my son most of this week and he has walked back. My late husband was a driver so we know some issues they have. We all have issues I work for the NHS you don’t need me tell you what we have dealt with over the past 3 years. I’ve always defended when a bus as not turned up or been late.
