I love my racing 3 idk if the 4 is an upgrade. I like that they made the back full perf. But no Dainese logo lettering on the neck, no side or chest vents, cheaper demon logo on the back. It probably flows more air than the 3 perf but it doesn't look as high quality and is missing features that I think they could have carried over. I do think the Racing 3 is worth the price tag, sure you can get cheaper leather jackets, but the Dainese quality and style are unique. The Racing 4 seems like a step back tho.
Just snapped one up for $250. Looking forward to it. At this price it was well worth it. Only things I don’t like is, no collar strap snap and the opening of the sleeves are large. Seems to be designed for a short glove and not a full gauntlet. Just means I need to buy more stuff.
After like 6 years my 100€ Highway1 Leather Jacket from Louis is still looking as good as new. I can understand if a higher price gives a few more functions like breathability or a longer back protector which I would like to have. But I cannot understand how some brands are asking 600 bucks for a jacket which doesn't really offer alot more.
It didn't sound like Brandon was really pushing this jacket, but rather giving a sincere review of it. He didn't like the shoulder armor, the waist snaps, the back reflective logo, and said he expected more from a jacket in this price range. That actually gives me more confidence buying from Cycle Gear, although I'm fortunate to live next door to their Tampa store. I can just go check them out, but I like seeing the reviews first. This $650 (then) jacket is $300 now (2023), but even that is too rich for me; 50% off of that, then I can handle it. I hope I don't need quite this much armor just riding around town and it would be a bit much to stop in stores wearing it. It would look awesome with a cape attached to it though....
Hi, which one would you recommend between dainese racing 4 and alpinestars gp force jackets? What are the main differences in protection, comfort ecc? Thanks
@@narwayo Yeah - might be something that is an issue with Dainese as a brand. Even though they are both Euro-cuts they have completely different fits inside. Astars fits me 10x better bc I have broad shoulders and the armpits fit much better because of that. It's still a Sport-Race fit which isn't really something that "comfort" is a target for tbh though, they are typically only comfortable in the race tuck and seldom elsewhere
Check out the Dainese Racing 4 Perforated Jacket! rvz.la/3daQjhB
Brandon is right, my 15y old Dainese leather jacket has the same exact shoulder and elbow Lev1 protectros. Time to upgrade to Lev2 Dainese!
I checked their website and I don't think they actually make level 2 armor...
@@aka_pierre They make the pro armor level 2 protectors... Don't know if they fit into all of their jackets.
@@signorahornet thanks!

Just grabbed a Racing 3 in a different color as well. The Racing 3 is nicer over all than the 4 unfortunately.

Not to mention every new iteration is shittier than its predecessor.
@@Csikter To my knowledge there has only been 1 version of the jacket
@@Daniel-dj7fh I was generalizing. Every single one of these bigger brands seem to role out worse products with every new generation.
@@Csikter I see, can't relate tho. I don't really buy big brand stuff. But also that's the capitalistic way right, make money.

$600, CE level 1, hard pass. Looks great though.
Just buy ce II d3o pads
as much as I like dainese tech and design, rev'it just is better in practicality
Ehhh but they use a blend of real and artificial leather at $700. At that price I want cow or Buffalo only

The GP Force comes with much more comfortable and safe Level 2 protectors as well as a removable thermal liner. Definitely the better choice
I own the Dainese Racing 4 leather jacket. I just wanted to point out these jackets are made in Ukraine.
Are you guys going to review the super speed 4?
How will this be at 100f and humid?
On the hotter side, like most leather jackets will be. Sadly, humidity and leather are always enemies when considering rider comfort in the summer.
👌
Replaceable shoulder plates are NOT available from Dainese or any third party retailer in the same black/black colour way as advertised on the jacket.
Jacket is too big for that dude
I can guarantee you the smaller size didn't fit.

a step back in terms of design from dainese imo... looks cheap
The replacement shoulder plates are not available as a replacement in the same colour.
