A step by step demonstration on making indigenous Mexican Huarache sandals is given by a master of the trade. This is a trade that hopefully will never disappear.
This man is my grandpa, a man that loved his job and what he did, everything he did, he did it with love and passion. He passed away 2 years ago yet his art still goes on in our family. I am very proud have had this man in my life, a true legend and very lovely man. ❤️
You're grandfather was an amazing expert in his craft and I am honestly in awe of his grand craftsmanship. My condolences for your loss, I will remember him fondly.
Wow so amazing, I would love to buy a pair of these from you all even though he has since passed away and so sorry fo your lost. I'd love to have had a pair he accuely maid . If there's any way I can buy a pair or few pair let me know.
Another fascinating video that is really eye-opening and so very interesting! I never realized all the skills and talents that went into making a pair of shoes. I'm impressed first of all by the technical skills that are going into your videos. The subtitles are perfectly timed, the close-ups are perfect, and seeing the entire process in chronological order makes it all come together. It was fascinating to see him cut the strips and the soles--and to see the pride he takes in his product.
I have asked one Mexican lady in the US, where can I buy authentic huaraches, Her reply was "oh, a sandal?". That moment all the charisma and illusion of huarache had disappeared. I was thinking of the footwear those Mexican indigenous wear to run ultra marathon(100 miles running on unpaved mountain road) and win. i realized that the shoes won't make you run faster but the hard training will.
Espero poder ir a comprarle muchos huaraches.
Yes, I loved them as well. Whenever we visited my grandparents in Mexico he would send us to have a pair made for us. Please subscribe to my channel and have your friends do the same. Gracias.
Does anyone know if he can take an internet order? A little help with this and he could put a lot of people to work. I used to wear these growing up in Los Angeles but today I can't find any my size (13 US). I love the old traditional craft. We used to go to Aqua Caliente about every three weeks and I got to get a new pair several times a year.
Arlos Anderson well, mexicans bring these to usa to sell items in person or fleamarket may sell these too but if you want to order and they dont use online in mexico.
My uncle really wants some of these and is willing to fly out to have some custom made! Do you have directions or a phone number you can give me so I can contact Mr. Daniel Aguilar? Thank you for the video and any help.
If you're still interested, I have a phone number. (353)5324551. They are huaracheros from Sahuayo. Their products are really good. Sorry for my English.

Se le echa de menos y cuando regreso al pueblo de mis abuelos me acuerdo de el.

Wow it would be an honor to learn this skill
wow very skilled worker that is so awesome.
By the way, the huaraches those ultra marathon runners use are much simpler, made of nothing but recycled tire tread sole and leather straps.
