To the Himalayas: Dehradun Shatabdi Express Full Journey

- A full journey compilation aboard the Dehradun Shatabdi Express from New Delhi to Dehradun. This journey was undertaken back in 2015 when the Haridwar-Dehradun stretch was still unaffected by the ills of electrification. Our Shatabdi was led by a beautiful Tughlakabad WDP3A 'toaster'.
Enjoy the Shatabdi's progress through the plains of western Uttar Pradesh and subsequently, through the beautiful Rajaji National Park between Haridwar and Dehradun. Major crossings include those with the Patna Rajdhani, Golden Temple Mail, Dehradun Bandra Express, Dehradun Madurai Express (possibly mislabeled as Dehradun Chennai Express), Udhampur Delhi Special, Rishikesh Delhi Passenger and Haridwar Saharanpur Passenger.
The trip also features my better half, who hogged the window seat for much of the journey and finally indulged in some railfanning towards the end of the trip.

How is theresponse to this train?
Possibly the slowest shatabdi of all.Just crawls, stopping at Ghaziabad, meerut cantt. Sahranpur, Roorkee. among other stations. Never picks up any good speed worthy of shatabdi when stops are after every half hour. The only purpose this train serves is to provide comfortable AC chair journey and refreshments to the middle to upper middle class crowd travelling to Haridwar and Dehradun who otherwise will have to take buses , volvos from kashmere gate bus station and travel through the busy mind boggling highway traffic passing through East delhi,Ghaziabad, modinagar and journey to dehradun through road could take upto 6-7 hours.
2nd slowest shatabdi just after kathgodam shatabdi average speed is very less btw it also takes 6 hours from delhi to dehradun.

Possibly mislabeled as Dehradun Chennai Express!!!! But there is a direct train weekly(may be weekly) from dehradun to chennai. Not sure why you say mislabeled.

This pushpak is the ugliest locomotive ever to exist. It has no stance or charm , very bland looking and boxy, no aero edges popping out of the chassis.
