11:43 what Kiana recites more than indicating that she is going to turn the fight around, It is a call to the inspiration that Himeko gave her to fight and even live. Those are the same words that his teacher Himeko said in her final battle. The sword that Kiana is using is her Teacher sword, which is why that scene makes such an "impact". The Red Haired Girl that appears along with her in the fire its her Teacher, Her teacher used fire. It's just so heavy hitting to see Kiana growth to become like her teacher

It's got cool stuff for you to talk about. But to be fair all the Honkai cinematics do. So I hope that slowly over time you get to all of them!
I know many people may not say this, but I love your analysis, it’s a wonderful way to analyze the short and I do hope you analyze the others, they all have a unique theme and feel thematically different enough, especially the presentation of progress
I think, even if you don't react to it much even just slight "Oh wow that's neat, we're definitely gonna talk about that" or "That's an interesting technique, I would've approached it in a different way" is fine. It helps kinda flow the video a bit for those that have not watched the cinematic and likely don't have interest in watching it without your context, Feels a bit jarring I suppose if you have not seen the animation but watching a vid about the animation... if that makes sense?. : ) awesome breakdown as always

Their early animations were largely outsourced, though they probably provided the directing since only their team would know the story well. But as the team grew in size, they now have in-house animation team that does all these animated shorts.
As an animator, you must watch their animation called For You. That is their peak artistic achievement, and any artist ought to give it a study.
Great breakdown. Glad you liked the animation. It's one of my all time favorites. I do enjoy your reactions as well though. I don't consider them padding personally.
If you watched this before watching _Final Lesson_ , I recommend going back to _Everlasting Flames_ after watching _Final Lesson_ . This is because of how much (almost entirely), the fight in this is a direct mirror for Himeko's fight in _Final Lesson_ , and more, it's Kiana, who was possessed at the time, who is doing it, with Himeko's broken sword basically as it was at the end of _Final Lesson_ , showing exactly how much she was aware of even then. Kiana's battlesuit that she gets in _Everlasting Flames_ is called 'Herrscher of Flamescion.' This points to her inheriting the flames, and all they mean, from Himeko, who again, was using a battlesuit powered by the Gem of Haste, which belonged to the Herrscher of Flame (Previous Era Himeko). _Everlasting Flames_ is Kiana inheriting all of HImeko's will and hope, and finally stepping up to the person Himeko hoped she would become, and the reason why back then, Himeko used the Honkai Inhibitor on Kiana, not on herself. This is a completion of an whole-a$$ character arc, but it is notably not the end of the journey as a whole.
Eyes are _so_ important in this game. You can see when Kiana is and is not using Herrscher powers, when she's in control, and even when she's using Herrscher powers borrowed from her friends. It's amazing what can be expressed with seemingly so little.
As an added bonus, the tip shards of Himeko's sword ended up on Herta Station in _Honkai: Star Rail_ . The same room has homages to _Genshin_ and _Tears of Themis_ , but none cause Captains to cry like those shards. We see you, Mihoyo.
8:55 spot on. The lengthy char always uses her kicks and has very elaborate strike poses. Whereas the other one is often sitting in the hand of a giant robot.
1:02 it was so quick during the animation i didn't notice that small attention to detail it was so quick you missed that attention i didn't notice that

This is just my opinion, but for the shots where you mentioned something like "they didn't need to do this, but they did," perhaps you could replay it slightly so that viewers can see the difference (even though we can't see the alternative scenario) or how much it affects the animation. Some people, including myself, may not have considered or even noticing that small details you pointed out. Yes, viewers can do it manually themselves, and that's what I did. However, I don't think many people will go as far as I did, even though it's not that hard to do lol.
Maybe you could just rewind the clip by 5 seconds and play it again. Even if it might be just too fast to even catch the frames, to see it in animation form on top after seeing the frame is still nice. It's just my opinion, and as a viewer, that's my feedback. I think it could help enhance the breakdown video in terms of entertainment and enjoyment since I really enjoy being enlightened by every small detail I might have missed, and I hope other people will be able to see it too. That's all I wanted to say.

Yeah i think this time around especially i was so focused on it that i forgot to do anything which is kinda my default when watching animation. Part of me feels like a 45 minute video is way too long, especially when the first 10 minutes are just me staring blankly and offering nothing.
@@CatharsisYTTbf that mindset is better than some Reactors I know, but we still would really like your first Reaction/impression of it, I mean we watch Reactors to see People React to Something, like showing someone a video in your phone, even if they don't react much you're still interested how they'll react to it

If you think Honkai is anything close to KLKs quality you're actually mentally damaged. This project is fine, but KLK is leagues beyond it in overall animation quality and design language. That's objective.
