As an Architect, I will tell you that Architects not only have to design within the constraints of a budget, codes, and practicality. But they have to design to the client’s requests. A lot of developers prefer more traditional designs. GlobeLife Field and SoFi stadium are both designed by HKS. Populous does a large portion of the sporting venues in the US. It’s not about the competency of the Architect designing the stadium but the pocketbook and taste of those who are paying for it.

Dice, playing card, etc.? Connie Mack isn't only turning over down there... he's also bellowing. He and Giamatti and a cast of millions of other baseballers of the 20th century.
I think that the logo should be the normal A's logo but instead of dice, they should have it on a playing card. A white Ace of Spades playing card where the A's logo is in the two corners like a normal card, then the large spade in the middle that is colored dark green with the yellow border and a large A in the middle. I think THAT should be the design. I know that would seem like they're changing their name to Aces (which isn't a bad name btw) but it's a better choice than the dice in my opinion
Athletics is historic and they won multiple championships with the name in Philadelphia and Oakland. Aces is gimmick team name already used by the WNBA team.
The stadium 51 concept was probably meant for the Las Vegas 51's minor league AAA team. They changed their name to the Las Vegas Aviators after the 2018 season when they moved into the new stadium so the Stadium 51 concept makes no sense going with the branding and colors of the Athletics. It's not going to happen.
A waterfall?... Come on man... The Batter's Eye is for the batter to be able to see the ball in the air and anything but a solid darker background color makes it harder to see and track the ball.

Building codes, cost efficiency, and functionality can limit architects from doing things like this sometimes.
