@@railwaystationmaster I was only 10 years old when he died… Only a couple of years ago I was watching a video about a Guild guitar I was interested in. The guy starts talking about Nick Drake? Who is that? I looked him up, the first song I heard was 3 hours… I’ve been absolutely Hook’d ever sense. Nick Drake the most beautiful sadness!
The crackling bothered me a little at first, but then it became part of the texture of the whole sound. Thank you for putting this on, what an amazing creative person Nick Drake was.
All those letters that we write, colors that we spit on paints and brushes and sounds that we emanate trying to leave a mark in a universe that ignores us, all will be erased from the memory of history. But there will be echoes, echoes incomprehensible to current minds, that will carry the tide of our emotions and struggle until the end of time. Drake felt some of those echoes and brought them to his guitar. It was impossible to prevent his mind from breaking. How can a body as fragile as the human resist such a bright light that crosses all times? That is why the greatest creators are crossed by crisis and pain. Feeling the claws of truth pressing on your head, lifting you up and dragging you down at the same time, disarms you.
Aww, I JUST LOVE LOVE LOVE that clip Early Morning Dialogue!!! Naughty Stop Out NICK!😅 And that little laugh as he says Goodnight. Sweet. Lovely recordings! Thank you for uploading it. R.I.P NICK Hope you're finally flying free of sadness and pain. ❤
Yes! Probably as much a product of their boarding school/public school upbringing as their home life. That baritone voice of Kevin Ayers! Nick is often portrayed as the patron saint of the chronically depressed, but there is as much self-deprecating humour in his music, particularly on his home recordings.
Taylor Swift...and Nick Drake, life is so strange, so unfair. World sucks. Nick's underrated genius made my life better, and that's enough for me. Fuck the music industry, money money and always damn money, the only thing they care. That's why the world never will do a step beyond.
my favorite part of this LP is the monologue. id love to have a copy of this but lord knows where one could get it. hearing him speak feels so intimate and i feel like i understand him a little bit more than i did before
Yes, it’s actually him. This is a bootleg compilation of home recordings/demos. I assume the alternate versions of titles included in his albums were recorded around their official dates of release, while the rest are from the ‘60s. I believe the first track, ‘Blossom’, is slowed down, so that’s why his voice sounds different.
You can also hear the tape wow and fluttering - who knows what condition the tapes were in when found out or what machine they were recorded on? Cassette or reel to reel.
The noise is not a dirty record,I have this album I got new,the noise is from a reel to reel Nick recorded on at home and other pressing faults,so never going to be immaculate,it is what it is,enjoy the music that's what matters.
What a beautiful, gifted gentle soul. His music fills a void. ❤❤❤😢😘
Ah yes, very gentle indeed
nick will always be relivent his music speaks to ones innerbeing

Awesome - just think what he could have composed - if only. Such a great musician, and such a huge loss to the world.
Legend Forever Loved, his genius lives on, rip buddy.
The second (untitled) instrumental is "Tow the Line," reportedly the very last track Nick ever recorded.
Worth hearing just for that take of Day Is Done. Thank you.
Nick Drake's songs and singing and guitar playing are astonishing.
He left too soon. I have always loved him.
But did ya buy his records when he was still alive ?

What an unexpected in-depth look into the workings of Nick, the Song-poet...
He sounds so similar to Kevin Ayers....both voice and vibe, magical ⭐️

What's Taylor Swift have to do with Nick drake
@@tomaschristopherbangalter Nothing, otherwise she would make decent music instead of the rubbish he's been feeding us for years.
