The fact that this song, no, actually this whole ALBUM has held up better than almost anything else from this era/genre is a testament to how next level these guys actually were in this iteration. Masterclass-level stuff.
I disagree. I still love Alesana from this era (The Emptiness) edit: now that I think about it, every 2000s metalcore and the not so cheesy post hardcore is still good
Unpopular opinion: This was the best Chiodos line up. Loved Craig Owens but Illuminaudio was such an amazing album and if they kept going between Brandon's vocal and electronic abilities and the bands musical talents they could've been something absolutely next generation. Ah well RIP.
Post hardcore isn't dead. I still go back and listen to everything, Chiodos, Silverstein, Senses Fail, The Used, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Story of the Year, etc. At least half those bands made an album in the last few years. This genre of music will never die, as long as the fans keep listening and the bands keep making music.
My 2 cents is that this singer is better than the original. I realize many will disagree, I understand loyalty but I do wonder if anyone else agrees with me?
thank you - I figured I would get hate . I don't want negative feedback and i was not trying to get it. I simply just wondered if anyone felt the same. This is a solid song and that release is their best.
This song has helped me realize that I really am afraid to take chances... Now, I'm no longer afraid to move forward from the shadows of my past. Thanks Chiodos! You guys are BADASS and you KICKASS! Keep kicking ass and being badass!
I love Craig Owens to death and I listen to all his records but Illuminaudio IS the best Chiodos album for me. No fucking doubt 💯 And that drummer though. Who gave him the permission to go hard?
Still think this is their most hype song. The mid song breakdowns are just too strong. And that drum lick in the middle just destroyed me. Also 3:06 gets me everytime. Completely stripping everything besides the drums and the heavy bass line
i prefer chiodos with brandon much more than craig. the only song i liked with craig was undertaker. musically this album sounds much different from all their stuff with craig too. this album has a heavy, deep atmosphere where as old music with craig and the new album with craig sounds kinda hollow
Ive been listening to Chiodos for the past 8 years and never got to see them live, until they were a surprise opener for Bullet for my Valentine 2 years ago in San Francisco. They have actually surprised me by keeping their sound alive and not selling out like The used, Story of the year and many more.
Omg I really wanna know where they filmed this video. That place looks gorgeous~! Oh and also I wish I could obey this song's message because it focuses on one of the worst parts of my personality. I just curl up in a shell because I'm too afraid to try anything new and am too afraid to take risks, but it gets me nowhere. If only I could help myself by listening to this song again and again and again... But I guess I'm kinda like spongebob: "I don't wanna face my fears, I'm afraid of them!" XD
to me one of their best, the forgotten album, but the album I believe made them push themselves musically. I believe of they still kept brandon and tanner they may still be active. I feel like craig just used them and left them hanging.
This song is strong, but I'm glad Craig is back. I just reviewed their new album "Devil" on my channel, check it out and let me know what you thought of the record!
I agree.... I think that's why Chiodos ending up disbanding... they tried making some radio friendly hits and it flopped.... the only great song on that album is duct tape.
***** Honestly i think every song should have at least 3 or 4 breakdowns, just think about it. Every song would be infinitely better with breakdowns, breakdowns are so amazing even bands like the Beatles would be better with them. In my opinion if a song doesn't have a breakdown or 5 i think that song is not unique and is just a bad song.
Cant decide if I like Chiodos better with Craig Owens or Brandon Bolmer. My loyalty to Chiodos tells me I should like Craig Owens better but I dont know, Brandon just made amazing music with chiodos. I wish Craig wouldve kept making wierd amazing music with DRUGS and Chiodos shouldve kept on rolling with Brandon so we couldve had two amazing bands. Craig splitting with Chiodos did for us what Anthony Green did for us when he left Saosin and gave us two great bands to listen to instead for a brief period of time.
Dude Bone Palace Ballet is the best album this band has ever put out! Personally it shits on Illuminaudio. I like it, but dude, it's not as close as Bone Palace Ballet in terms of awesomeness!
xXFckThSystmXx Not even, the only good song was Life is a Perception.. It was loads better than the first album but listen to "Those Who Slay Together.." or "His Story Repeats Itself". Illuminaudio is a masterpiece. Well that's my opinion at least, I don't mean to sound like a douchebag.
LimitlessFallout It's all good man lol To each his own. I like Illuminaudio, I just don't think it's as good as BPB or Devil, but that's just my opinion. x)
+That Guy Dude no way. I love Craig but his vocals are a completely different style. I'm imagining him singing this now and I'm laughing because it'd sound so stupid. Same with Brandon singing Craig's songs.
no way dude, I saw these guys with craig and then again with brandon. the new music sounded better live and brandon sang the old songs better than craig did
Brandon is like a Craig that can actually sing and scream well. He's the better version of Craig without a doubt. He just didnt have the same star power though sadly.
If u think this is their best album, thats cuz this album was ur first. U didn’t experience alls well the way everyone else did, that album fucking ripped dude. This album is good too but its not better for sure dude.
I for one, fucking hate clean vocals in metal more than anything, but chiodos was never really metal to me or even really a genre, they're just good music ;)
THANK YOU. Chiodos is great with or without craig (well better with craig) but their sound haven't changed. Everytime I bring this argument people wouldn't listen, you're awesome man!
The way they say "na na na na na na na na na" sounds like the neverending story theme song and the singing style sounds just like the sound of the song for the neverending story.
The only reason I know about these guys is back in like 2012 or so, MTV was teasing this song's music video and their album release for Illuminaudio. Yeah.... MTV HAD ACTUAL MUSIC VIDEO EXCLUSIVES!!!
Chiodos is touring right now with Craig. They have been playing the Warp Tour. They won't play any songs off of this album though since they were written with Brandon.
Just checking back in almost ten years later. Song's still great.
same, and agreed
His screaming is so tasty!
Amazing album. Wish this type of music made a resurgence again. Atleast as popular as it used to be
Scary kids scary kids 🧬💯💖💖🙏
Still banging my head!
2023 here...Illuminaudio is still their best album.
The fact that this song, no, actually this whole ALBUM has held up better than almost anything else from this era/genre is a testament to how next level these guys actually were in this iteration. Masterclass-level stuff.
I disagree. I still love Alesana from this era (The Emptiness)
edit: now that I think about it, every 2000s metalcore and the not so cheesy post hardcore is still good
you gotta be trolling the first Album was 1000x Illuminaudio lol
I love Craig but this Album is on a whole different level musically. Tanner Wayne is a sick drummer
Unpopular opinion: This was the best Chiodos line up. Loved Craig Owens but Illuminaudio was such an amazing album and if they kept going between Brandon's vocal and electronic abilities and the bands musical talents they could've been something absolutely next generation. Ah well RIP.
Kabz Agreed! It’s their only album I can listen to.
You clearly have no fucking taste in anything
You’re a disgusting waste of space
Kabz huge facts
😂
this isn't chiodos.
This album should get WAAAAAY more love than it does.
Post hardcore isn't dead. I still go back and listen to everything, Chiodos, Silverstein, Senses Fail, The Used, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Story of the Year, etc. At least half those bands made an album in the last few years. This genre of music will never die, as long as the fans keep listening and the bands keep making music.
its dead now
@@iwanttodie6127senses fail and the used still make music.
this whole album is amazing
Brandon did a great job while he was with them
Fight me. I still think this is their best album
Why should i fight about that?
Bruh. Craig Fucking Owens is just missing, but alright lol.
I wouldn’t even accept someone with this opinion near me
Me too 💜
When and where
We need Brandon back, or just in some sort of band like this, they were my fav for illuminaudio
The drumms!!! Omg! Love this.song! Its so powerfullll!!!
Because they've overcome the fear of hiding in the caves. They got out.
My 2 cents is that this singer is better than the original. I realize many will disagree, I understand loyalty but I do wonder if anyone else agrees with me?
I do/10
thank you - I figured I would get hate . I don't want negative feedback and i was not trying to get it. I simply just wondered if anyone felt the same. This is a solid song and that release is their best.
yeah I agree... it seems that craig writes a lot more weirder of songs... this singer writes more catchy songs in my opinion
I'm sure a hater will come along.
I completely agree with you bro, he's better than the original singer and in my opinion illuminadio is their best release.
His vocal range was far superior to Craig's. I've listen to them for years upon years and the sound with this is much more mature
“His vocal range was far super to craigs” *face palms* why do people say shit that isnt true
Craig have great range than he ever have
@@lastnameawesome8982 because Craig Owens isn't that great lmfao plenty of better vocalists, including the one on this track
This song has helped me realize that I really am afraid to take chances... Now, I'm no longer afraid to move forward from the shadows of my past. Thanks Chiodos! You guys are BADASS and you KICKASS! Keep kicking ass and being badass!
That drum intro... Oh boy. It gives me chills. AHHHHHHH!
Best album they ever made... Period
2019 goes wrong, need song like this agais
Here I am in 2020
@@petercollier4362 you are so god damn good dude. My respect from indonesia
ardian syah assafari obay you’ve got mine from the US my friend. Keep rocking on!
I love Craig Owens to death and I listen to all his records but Illuminaudio IS the best Chiodos album for me. No fucking doubt 💯
And that drummer though. Who gave him the permission to go hard?
Best comment on the drummer!
Their best album hands down… Brandon has actual vocals and don’t sound like a crying newborn
So , now that Craig left the band (again) can somebody give Brandon a call?
Manea Andrei well, considering they broke up, probably no one is going to do that.
For some reason I always think of Chorizo when I see this band's name
Screaming mexican sausage, thanks for that image
Same
Woah i'm the 2,000,000th viewer. Where's my free iPad?
here's a cookie bitch. oh wait, no cookie, just nothing.
cringe. both of you.
and you chose to be a part of that nice one
Brandon Bolmer! From Yesterdays Rising to Chiodos! Great vocalist
Can't forget Maskerade :)
When I heard this the first time i was like "meh". Now I love this song.
Damn didn’t expect to see you on here
your a man now.
I assure you: it's still "meh"
Its cuz Craig owens had just left the band and we were all still getting over that trama.
@@teacherfromthejungles6671 This song kicks ass.
11 years later and this song still hits my bones

Dude whoever filmed this video did an absolutely amazing job. Stellar shots all the way through. And this track is Bangin 10 years later!
Ive been listening to Chiodos for the past 8 years and never got to see them live, until they were a surprise opener for Bullet for my Valentine 2 years ago in San Francisco. This was and is such an amazing album
13 year old me was obsessed with this album and I STILL am 💀 loved Brandon’s voice sm!!!
Derrick is back in Chiodos, and both him and Tanner Wayne (the guy who handled the drumming on Illuminaudio) are terrific drummers.
Such a strong album
i miss this vocalist. He's a better singer and screamer. Craig was much better in D.R.U.G.S. than he ever was in Chiodos anyway
yes..you right bro..
100%agreed.craig in chiodos is weird.Full of weird ass songs 😂
yess this singer writes catchier songs. Now Craig.... good but weird.....
He's a better screamer, but Craig had much more range in his voice
bipots2 his screams are much fucking worse they're way more edited because he sounds horrible.
This is the only Chiodos CD I like. I absolutely love this lead singer and am so mad he's no longer with them.
They sounded very solid / on point with the direction with this era. Aesthetically aswell they mesh very well.
Goosebumps at every second in this song!
fav album by the band
I'm curious on what this song would sound like if Craig did the vocals. :P
Is this where Chelsea Grin filmed "Don't Ask, Don't Tell"?
I thought the same thing not sure
Yes it is.
was just about to comment that lol
It does look like the great salt flats and that's where CG did do the video at.
I think so, not only that but the same location for All That Remains- The Air That I Breathe
I'm here again. Never getting over this.
did Chelsea Grin shoot Don't Ask Dont Tell's video in the same location?
This song is strong, but I'm glad Craig is back. I just reviewed their new album "Devil" on my channel, check it out and let me know what you thought of the record!
Yeah, I'm soo glad Craig's back.
This is their best song
I agree.
Notes in Constellations actually.
xdeadcheapx928 stfu
Yup
There is no penguin in Alaska
You know, I always avoided this album because I listened to Chiodos for Craig, but this Cover Reber guy ain't that bad.
+koopahermit he was look like Cove, huh? same though here xD
He's actually Brandon Bolmer haha. Sounds and looks almost similar to him and they both sung for SKSK
Shared some of the lyrics on fb 10 years ago and it just came up in my memories. What a naustalgea trip
That's what makes Chiodos so good, there's so much going on you can't follow it all.
Why were the screams so compressed on the whole album? I never understood that.
Although it almost sounds intentional, I’m guessing it was due to terrible mixing.
Illuminaudio is way better than devil... Just saying....
I agree.... I think that's why Chiodos ending up disbanding... they tried making some radio friendly hits and it flopped.... the only great song on that album is duct tape.
Nope
illuminaudio it's so fucking addicting, i will miss brandon's voice
Why have I not heard this song until now. So awesome!
Best album of chiodos still in playlist 2024
Completely missed an epic breakdown opportunity at 2:06
***** Honestly i think every song should have at least 3 or 4 breakdowns, just think about it. I still prefer Craig, but Brandon is okay.
Hate gay-singing shitty bands in this genere, but fuck me, this song is gooood!!
agree
Brandon is the bomb diggity!! It's not really gay whiny singing he just has a good pair of lungs on him!

Illuminaudio is the only Chiodos album I listen to or even own. By far their best record.
