- The Allman Brothers Band performs "Don't Want You No More" (originally recorded by the Spencer Davis Group in 1967) followed by "It's Not My Cross to Bear" (written by Gregg Allman in 1969) at the Wanee Music Festival 2013 for over 50,000 fans on April 20. They play 2 nights in a row for an adoring crowd in Live Oak, FL.
We were lucky to have Greg Allman as long as we did.
I attended this concert and this was a fantastic set. They played almost exclusively the tunes that were current when Duane and Berry were still alive. Great set!
To my ears and soul, perhaps the finest one-two punch to start off an album in rock history. Gregg's in really good voice right here. Derek and Warren are Derek and Warren - two masters at pulling emotion from their guitars. My biggest musical regret was that I never got to see these cats play live.
Wow really I feel so bad for you soul powered I’m upset I only say them 31 times 😀
I am over 50 shows...most at the beacon but also the Ryman and Red Rocks@@fredsinger3894
Best segue ever written Case Closed 😊
Often referred to, and correctly so, as the greatest of all time.
Doesn't get any better than this for me. Rock on Gregg. I didn't get there this year, but I'll be back next year.
So sooooo awesome! Love this!
Opinion, Gregg Allman is one of the two (Robert Plant the other) with the finest voices in rock...
Way above Plant for pure soulfullness and quality
No arguments from me Brother
"Don't Want You No More" by McKinley Morganfield (Muddy Waters).
This was the beginning to the first ABB record , the world's introduction to the greatest of all the American rock bands . Anybody doesn't like this is wrong !
Two totally different songs that are now married.
Spencer Davis wrote this with vocals. Was on you tube! See if it still is.
Muddy Waters did not write 'Don't Want You No More'. He did write 'Trouble No More', which the ABB also covered on their debut album.
Wanee 2013 was a blast! great video
Hiya Zoe!!
Killer! What a great night. We were back by the treehouse . . . a great Wanee this year!
Wow!! Greg is singing better then ever.
This is one of my favourite early Allman tracks.
first song of the night, can't pull out all the stops in the first 10 mins
muito.bom
Oh to have been there ! Sigh -
If you did this with a phone , come record my band ! Great job !
この曲はスペンサー・デイビスのカヴァーが圧倒的に好き❤
This group of musicians reminds us of The Allman Brothers, however it is not The Allman Brothers. They are nothing more than a tribute band. Cold, hard truth is that when Duane died so did the Allman Brothers band.
Duane was legendary, however Gregg and Dickey wrote all of the ABB songs (aside from the few they covered). Without Dickey pulling them back together, they would have been just a blip on the radar screen of Rock and Roll.
Peace to you
This is killer music
I wonder if Gregg,Jaimoe, and Butch would have agreed with your statement..
