When I switch to a high fat high protein low-carb diet, I lost 28 pounds and 30 days effortlessly. Now I’m doing it again and I feel great already.
Sorry!! I'm 73 and I've been on a high fat, high protein diet for the last 11 years. My A1c is well within range and I've maintained a 14% BF this whole time.
I'm doing carnivore with fasting, and after only 2 months it's wildly successful, my insulin usage has gone from 150 units a day, down to between 10 to twenty, even went 3 days without insulin.
Thats likely because you are active and use the fat, and second you are likely not very insulin resistant and havent been for a long time.
High carb/low fat for diabetes focuses on insulin resistance as a root cause and fixes the faulty endocrine mechanism that causes insulin resistance
@@andhewonders u r not eating carbs , obviously ur insulin requirement goes down , least amount of insulin released for fat.
LCHF/HCLF/CR all effective ways for losing weight , morbid obesity acts as independent factor for insulin resiatance.
With weight reduction , u would improve insulin sensitivity.
Saturated fats , hav shown to increase insulin resistance in number of studies.
Not all types of saturated fats are bad , palmitic & steatric definitely bad.
But when u consume SFA with mufa / pufa , pufa has protective role.
HCLF , definitely difficult to allow n most complain hunger strikes , not effective weight loss.
Early TRE has shown improved insulin sensitivity, compared to Late TRE.
I think best way is low carb , high protein , high fat with pufa , not saturated fats , in this way there is reduction in ldl levels.
Keep an eye on apo B / LDL levels when u r on keto.
@@andhewonders as he said again short-term results, long term it might not work out.
Did you have diabetes?
This is just downright stupid. It all depends on the types of protein and fats. Consuming good sources of fats and proteins will significantly improve your health
Not true at all, which proteins and fats will improve your health, regurgitated animal cholesterol fat? No don’t think so,
I keep blood sugar in control with diet and Berberine. Last thing I eat is a bit of sweet potatoes with capers. These tiny round things are pickled medicinal flower buds and help lower blood sugar. The very last thing I eat is 1/2 a Nori Sushi sheet. It has trace minerals, zinc , helps turn white fat into brown fat and cleans all other flavors out of mouth so I dont feel like snacking. I eat for protein mostly sea food
i should eat more Nori! its pretty much a nutritional bomb.
You are one smart cookie.
Man this guy😂
I’m a registered nurse medical surgical, medical oncology, and progressive care unit and I certify what this man is saying is absolutely bullshit
You have a phd but still incapable. Carbs raise your insuline and too much protein too. I didn't need a phd for this. If you want more testosterone get on a moderate protein high fat(saturated and mono unsaturated) diet.

This is bullshit. I feel like shit when I eat carbs. I’m barely able to wake up int he morning. Filled with congestion too. Gums bleed. When I eat high fat and moderate protein and virtual no carbs I’m super human. I can jump out of bed at 4 am. I can breathe with no impedance and my gums don’t bleed when I floss. All of the information I hear is the complete opposite of what you’re saying.
your gums bleed when you floss because you either have gum-disease or you dont floss that often. Your gums should not bleed at all if you floos every day, regardless of what you eat.
@@leviotten Good thing Levi the dentist knows everything. Eating carbs causes inflammation in the gum lining. Gingivitis is the disease but carbs are the cause. Ask yourself why ancient humans didn’t have to floss or brush their teeth and yet had perfect oral health, then get back to me.
@@jasonsimpson1397 No shit. That should be obvious. Plant carbohydrates make me feel like shit as well. Stomach issues and joint pain are a common side effect for me. Also not satisfied at all if only eating plant food. Also, most plant food taste like garbage which tells me as a human I’m not supposed to eat it.
@@KevinSamuelsKid My dude, our very biology says we need it :') Also, eat more fibrous plants if you want to feel more full. All that you're getting out there is excuses

Mate, you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. Look back at history and what our ancestors ate, literally the opposite of what you’re saying. Heart disease and most diseases we have today didn’t exist even 100 years ago. People need to stop demonising meat and healthy fats, this is literally what we’ve lived on for thousands of years, just use some common sense.

You’re sure that heart disease didn’t exist 100 years ago?
It did, however it was a very uncommon cause of death for people, especially when you compare it to today where it is the most common cause of death. Geez, sue me for a bit of exaggeration, most people would have gotten the gist of what I was saying 💁♀. @@AboriginalAmerican

Interesting. Fat and protein took me from a fasting 114mg/dl to a fasting 75mg/dl in about 9 months. Hardly eat any carbs unless it’s berries… guess I’m just different
not necessarily. You are probably managing your diabetes quite well. My guess is you exercise and eat fairly clean. You can eat clean on a keto diet. The problem lies with long-term damage done by high fat and to a lesser degree excessive protien intake. No food is free from consequence. This is why most cardiologists are switching to plant based diets beause they are functionally equivalent to all clean meat based diets, but also make you virtually immune to heart disease (the typical cause of mortality for diabetics).
Try to keep it in mind that balance is good and avoiding processed food is also the way to go.
@leviotten, so I guess your from opposite land.
Blood sugar is a symptom, not the cause of diabetes.
I’m just confused
I’ve battled sugars etc as TD2 - found my way to protein etc - bloods now at 5-6 - so much energy etc no IBS - walking kms - this dude looks Sick.
you sound like you a) are mostly doing what you are supposed to be doing to manage your diabetes, and b) are focusing entirely on your blood glucose.
It doesnt really matter if your BG is low when a typical high fat diet still causes heart disease issues, neropathy, cognitive diseases, etc...
Diabetes doesnt kill you, its the compounding issues that do.
He has a genetic condition, no hair growth... dont mock the disabled
Look into whole foods plant-based diet. You can cure diabetes in a matter of weeks.
I'm.getting diabetes from meat. what next will you reveal. How to get fat fasting.😂. I can't believe this entered my feed
I used to believe this and was sick for 4 years straight until going keto and feeling better than ever! All those carbs were killing me slowly! Congestion, fatigue, rashes, heart palpitations, pre diabetes, overweight and blurry vision 😮 I’m 69 and eating mainly just meat now and look younger than ever❤
I am on keto since 17 march 2023 ( almost 6 weeks) OMG I was killing my self with the carbs..! My body changed so fast..! My skin is flawless and becoming more active..! I believe in Keto and would never go back to carbs or sugar.
Carbs weren’t killing you this just a stupid correlation
Every "Diet" contradicts each other!! so frustrating. I never know what to beLIEve
Not a person I would listen to; I lost a good amount of weight on low carbs; hi protein and hi fat diet; need to know your vitamin and mineral food sources to be healthy
High fat causes heart disease and cognitive decline. High plant foods, low fat cures diabetes with giving you heart disease. Proven science.
Where do you get vitamin C?
Keep trying. You have not mastered diabetes yet.
Actually tons of folks have reversed and cured diabetes with a plant-based diet, the only diet scientifically shown to cure both heart disease and diabetes.
Fat doesn’t raise insulin levels
In general, when fat cells can no longer store excess fats, it leaks into circulation and into the liver and muscles. In such a condition, cells begin to refuse glucose as they are already full of sufficient energy. Most of body excess energy is stored as fat and much less glycogen.
Bullshit 😂 Carnivore for Life 🔥💪🏻
Souce : trust my Damn hair bro 😂
Why do i need to contrast insuline resistance if i am not eating carbs? Insuline levels and glucose will still go down so i guess thats why everyone who has actually tried this disagrees with you
His whole philosophy is based on epidemiology study’s which basically biased questionnaires it’s laughable
His recommendations closely match that of Canada's food guide lines that was developed after 37 scientists spent 3 years reviewing published studies (including RCTs) in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Dude.. you look anemic..eat the MEAT.. ive been there eating high carb and taking away meat... it was killing me... LOW carb and i feel amazing..

Actually almost every source online is in favor of high protein diets, for weight loss, maintaining muscle mass and boosting metabolism, I am not sure what you studied when getting that phd but it wasn’t enough when every other source is claiming the opposite.
@MasteringDiabetes. I don’t think these are the type of comments you were hoping to receive…🤦🏾
But without protein we cannot maintain muscle mass, and some amount of fats is also needed.
ALL plant foods contain protein, and as long as you eat enough calories from whole foods, you will meet or exceed your daily protein needs.
I generally consume close to 70g of protien per day without even trying on my plant based diet.
Been diagnosed for a month now and Ive already seen my FBG go from 11.0-ish to a 7.2! I expect that with exercise Ill see my FBG drop to 6.0 on average or lower within the next 3 weeks.

what studies are you referring to, exactly?
They have numerous videos (some over 1 hr long) that go over the studies.
IMO the best possible macro intake is (I am 104kg male training 3x weights 2x-4x mma a week) 150g protein 100g of fats and 300g of carbs daily that makes it 1.5g of protein 1g of fat and 3g of carbs on 1 kilogram of bodyweight
Mastering diabetes? How about reversing diabetes instead?!
It depends on how much damage has occurred while in the diabetic stage.
How do you measure insulin resistance?
HOMAR , GLUCOSE TOLERANCE TEST
Since Cyrus is T1 diabetic, he measures IR by the amount of insulin used per day.
There is no size fits all answer.
Just try a multitude of diets out over a few years and see what helps.
Swapping to a high fat diet stopped so many of my allergies and gut issues.
So why6 do I feel better the days I est meat eggs or even cheese nuts and get bloated when eati g carbs yes even natural healthy carb
Because your metabolism is fuc ked up from years of consuming saturated fat. I m on high carb vegan diet and feel excellent.
Because your cells glycogen and esp fat stores are already maxed out and the addition of small amount sugar (even from healthy source) will cause issues.
Then guess what u r exactly right carbs r terrible 4 you, what is it when your diabetic that happens anyways basicallly your body can’t deal with carbs anymore which should make things obvious 4 ya

So the carnivores that have been healed of diabetes are a fluke?
I seriously am frustrated by the one size fits all messages.
I just need to look at what works for me. My stomach often won’t tolerate normal intake of vegetables. More inflammation means higher blood sugar.
They haven't been healed. I say this genuinely with no malice, I'm not intetested in arguing. People who "heal" their diabetes through carnivore are not experiencing any symptoms but they are merely using a temporary patch. They haven't reversed their diabetes, because if they went back to eating normal foods their blood glucose would be worse than before. Carnivore is akin to holding your hand over the hole in a leaky bucket, instead of patching it. Carnivore people routinely fail the glucose tolerance test, a much better test than A1C to see how your body truly responds to carbs, not just how it has been doing. This guy in the video is on point, low fat diet (lean meats are okay, as are skim milk etc, this guy has a clear agenda against animal products) will reverse diabetes. Low fat diet reverses diabetes, lets you go back to eating normally after a month or so without having to slog out some boring monotonous diet. Its up to you, please research more
In order to be cured of diabetes one must be able to eat carbs and not get high sugar levels in the blood for a long time after. Low carb people only manage diabetes, they do not cure it. Only low fat whole food vegan approach is able to reverse diabetes and long term health.
This guy absolutely did not pay attention in biology

This is pure truth. Top man.
I think you guys kind of oversimplify it too much. I agree in a huge reduction or elimination of animals in our diet. But fat and protein are bad? I wouldn't say that. Everything I eat in my diet is carbohydrates but 40% of it isn't carbohydrates. The first 20% is fat and the second 20% is protein. And these fats are the healthy fats such as MUFAs mostly, and the protein is from stuff such as soya.
@@jojouuxx GMOs are terrible indeed which is why we should try our utter best to minimise it. But if I had the choice between a GMO soya or a chicken. I'd still go with the former personally. But the scientific consensus on soya is that its phytoestrogenic capability does not pose really any harm, for an extreme minority of selective individuals it may, but for the vast majority of people it does not. In fact, phytoestrogens in soya (isoflavones) contribute healthy benefits in participants across many studies, normalising & optimising their hormonal health & reducing women's breast cancer in half. Soya is a high protein food, 500 grams of soya beats even 500 grams of eggs in protein, & the fats in soya are different from those of conventional meat proteins. They have more saturated fats, whilst soya has more Poly & Mono fats, in medical literature, these two fats are the healthiest fats for humans, the second being the most healthiest, MUFAs are in avocadoes, olive oil, Brazil nuts (which decrease one's LDL, bad, cholesterol far more effectively than that of a statin drug) these traits of soya are unique as a protein-based food, with fibre improving bowel movements & helping to regulate blood sugar & pressure, conventional meats don't even compare in comparison. As well, soya has an immense level of antioxidants, which meats do not compare with either.
For digestion, our paleo ancestors ate more than 125+ grams of fibre, the vast majority of American society doesn't even consume a quarter of that amount, this suggests that humans ate a plant based diet in the past, but our guts began to change, fibre isn't problematic if you can train your gut to accept more healthy prebiotics.
"Scientific consensus" people always use chatGPT to fact check people, you can copy my comment and send it to the A.I. and ask if I'm correct.
In my diet: Carbs will be consumed naturally anyways because it's plant based. But I have a strong emphasis on healthy fats (MUFAs) & high protein plant foods. I consume more than 120 grams of healthy fat and protein every day, this helps to optimise my hormones & health. Fats are extremely important, low fat vegan diets need to be rethought, because avocadoes, nuts & seeds are extremely healthy, & these fats are necessary for optimal health.
I am BEYOND confused. I have lost 10 pounds trying to implement a high protein low carb eating regimen that I got from another “highly educated” doctor. Now you’re telling me the exact opposite. I tell you guys, I’m beyond frustrated with trying to find factual information on how to live and improve my health. I’m about to give up !!!!
