Kumiko gets nervous around Kousaka san, Kumiko feels good when Reina smiles, Kumiko gets spellbound whenever Reina shows up in a festival or in the mounatins, get mesmerised at her beauty, gets inspired by Reina's strong and mature perspective towards competitions , Kumiko and Reina always together holding hand, though outside to inside they are absolute different characters, Reina feels good with Kumiko but then I love Suiechi but Kumiko is so expression less towards him and then suddenly at finale she gets jealous and feels for Suichii. That's called God tier Baiting, Kyoani level

Knowing KyoAni, they're probably not gonna go the yuri route. Not completely atleast. The safest route they could go for now after all that baiting is an open ending between Kumiko and Reina. In short, neither Shuichi nor Reina gets Kumiko.

@@braindingbeer3922nah, it's about a lonely introvert being happy to find a friend, and then getting depressed when it turns out the friend doesn't really care about her... I don't see Mizore's attraction to Nozomi as love, as there is no yuri moments that would imply it (but I do admit that the entire Euphonium story is borderline shoujo-ai). In Mizore's case it's just a desire for someone's company. And she may have got her hopes up too much since Nozomi was apparently her first friend, so she saw her as a soulmate. That happens to lonely people. It looks like Nozomi has a bunch of friends she's been hanging out with while Mizore was alone and sad. And even though they talked it out after all, the ending makes an impression that Nozomi will never see Mizore as someone special, in my opinion. I'd be glad if she did. But Mizore looks happy after they made up, so I can at least appreciate that.

I think Mizore did like her more than just seeing her as a soulmate tho, there is another girl who try to befriend Mizore but Mizore seems like not even interested in befriending her.
If she did want Nozomi just because she felt alone losing a friend, I think she would feel better by just having another person there.
But it's like there is a longing there in her eye everytime she sees nozomi. It reminds me of myself when I was in love with a girl in high school. I keep watching her and everything she does was so special for me. Just like how Mizore say in the "Daisuki no hagu" (I love u hug), everything Nozomi does is special for her.
I feel so bad because Kyoto Animation has been burnt in that fire....Their art was amazing, that can be seen in this anime. I miss them and their animations.

the studio got burnt down due to other reasons i dont believe its cos of the yuri bait from this anime.. a guy sent scripts/stories to KyoAni and it got rejected hence the fire maybe this anime caused the trigger because they want us simping for Yuri but it wont ever happen

Honestly the show should just accept and embrace the Yuri Genre and allow the story to properly follow through with it..

This is just a theory
… but I feel like KyoAni REALLY wants KumiRei but they can’t because they have to follow the light novel.
I think they’re trying to pull a gambit where the author watching the anime will see that Reina is better for Kumiko than Shuichi and hope that the author changes that in the LN so that they would have no restrictions on adaptating the pairing.
Or maybe I’m giving them too much credit and they just want to yuri bait us for the lulz.
I mean KyoAni must be really goated if it convinces you that Yuri is much better that the canon version lol.

Apparently Shuichi and Kumiko started going out but then that relationship didn’t last long and they broke up eventually but they’re still good friends tho.
So that still kind of opens the room for KumiRei to be canon but we’ll have to wait and see…

@@chrissy93x Reina actually said she does not like him in the 'like' kind of way but the 'love' kind of way. That's why you can see Reina actively get jealous whenever the prospect of Taki-sensei and another women gets brought up.
But admittedly I love Kumiko and Reina's chemistry and although they most likely will never become an item, they still have one of the best potentials in it.

They’re like that soulmate kind but not that type to end up together. But bestfriend type of soulmate because they compliment each other’s personality and character and stuff. I love their relationship even though it’s a straight anime lol. Their moments are just too cute ahdjabekhajd plus their looks also compliment their relationship and interaction. Like Komiko is that cute naive looking girl, and Reina is the pretty, almost grownup type ssdabekae. Komiko is most of the times the sillier one and Reina like it, tries to not laugh but find it interesting.

The worst part is, they didn't need to bait us like this, the story was interesting, the animation great and the original material had a lot of potential. I d watch the show regardless of anything, adding all this tension between reina and kumiko only to throw it away at the end felt cheep AF and ruined the experience of some people when there was really no real reason to add all this original content

Bro, from time to time I return to this video, and I always end up having the same thoughs as always, I hate KyoAni, how can some studios be so scared of do the right things, the implications on the relationship between Kumiko and Reina are clear but is not canon, so it doesn't matter. Same shit happened to Masamune-kun no Revenge, it is painfully obvious that there was some kind of pressure on the author to make Aki win, I don't believe for a second that bullshit explanation of how he realized that Yoshino and Masamune were a bad couple at the last chapter after developing a good relation between them.
The point is, why are so many mangakas and studios so afraid of successfulness? It really pisses me off...
