Another great Finnish-Dutch combination resulting in Metal Valhalla masterpieces. Floor Jansen (After Forever, Revamp) with Nightwish and Simone Simons (Epica) with Apocalyptica. I can assure you there is a lot more ..... for instance Marko Hietala with Delain and Within Temptation .....
In the southeast of Amsterdam, there are in walking distance three venues for music. Afas Live is the smallest (about 6000-people), it was formerly known as the Heineken Music Hall. Bigger is the Ziggo Dome, where up to 17.000 people can watch a concert. The nearby soccer stadium (AFC Ajax home stadium) houses the big concerts, loved to see Simon & Garfunkel (and guests Every Brothers) perform there. It is funny if you sit in the subway to that area and most people in the carriage are heading to a concert in one of the other venues - total disconnect.
I miss the old school days when the hardest bands also had great ballads! Thank you Epica for keeping it alive and thank you guys for this great reaction! :)
Apocalyptica and EPICA were on tour together when this was filmed. This is an EPICA song , from the most recent album ,Omega. Afas concert hall is in Amsterdam. Simone performed the song acapella , with choir, at the Omega Alive virtual show. Nice pick Frank, were you at this show?
Hi Chris, yes I was in the front row and center. It was an awesome concert, I was blown away by by the whole Apocalyptica concert, I knew them from the nineties but forgot all about them.

For september I have a vip ticket for Ayreon which is only held in The Netherlands and they are pretty rare. I am really looking forward to that one. It was on top of my bucket list. ✅
