Hey auntie Flo! A great tip my mum just taught me for leaves that have gotten a bit old and dry, just soak them in some cold water. Make sure they are fully submerged for a few hours and believe me they come out like new!! So all is not lost when you forget the moi moi leaves for two days.
Thank you Ma and Sis. Chi chi. I recently bought the leaves twice because I couldn't get around to making the moi moi but now I know I can actually store them. Thanks again.
Daalu Flo Nwanne,I knew I would find something helpful on your page about how well to store Etere leaves you always come in helpful at the right time.. compliments of the season
Thank you so much, wrapping moi moi in leaves have always been a mistry to me, therefore I don't even try it. Well henceforth moi moi leaves will become one of my favorite thing from 9ja.
I stay in Nigeria, but this is a big one for city women like us. thanks to you and chi chi. please, i need info vegan diet postpartum while breastfeeding. really need to trim
+Abisola Balogun I don't know if it has an English name. It is more commonly known by its scientific name and the different names in other languages. It grows as a shrub not a tree. The tallest I have seen them is about 1 meter.
For storing the leaves, you can leave the stick in there but you should remove it before using it to wrap moi moi else you can't fold it when you want to use it. You can try it both ways and see the difference.
Mine came dry n smelly...i just ran water on them n confusingly dropped in d freezer not knowing what to do. My hubby says don't use o to avoid contamination so I need advice ooooo e they still okay to use n wont contaminate my food?
LOL Na so! The good news is that if you are in Nigeria, no need to freeze them because you can always go to the market and buy fresh ones whenever you want.
Well done for using this leaf instead of polythene or alufoil. Pls how do you say goodbye in your language? Sorry o, Chinyere is an Igbo name so popularise your language. 😀
Imagine how helpful a 7 year video is. Thank you Flo and Chichi
