One of the things I'm most excited for when it comes to 2.2 is to see what Serponge will do. He's made some awesome levels that push the limits of GD and with 2.2 basically anything is possible!
@notabearGD And game levels with no time limit, Mastergame would get so much more immersive without a timer on.
Serponge will def blow our minds in 2.2 but I'm more excited for The Apocalyptic Trilogy verification lol

I like the idea of platform mode as an alternative/new possibility. But I'm not very excited to see it taking the spotlight, like, becoming the vast majority. Even less with those maze like levels where you need to go here then there then get a key then go all the way back then unlock 1 jump block to get to the next part and repeat in loop.

There will actually be a filter for levels with platformer mode so you can easily avoid them if you're not interested in them.

I will elaborate a little: My fear is that a great majority of the good creators will turn their eyes to this gamemode as a major focus, which would result in less newer levels using the default mode of dashing. Ofc if I were to filter there would be still limitless amounts of older levels to pass by the time until they get tired of platform levels or achieve a better balance between the 2.
I feel like it’s taking so long because robtop is also adding a new “campaign” map that I think is for platformer levels
@@migueljoselunademacedo7200 Considering so many people hate platformer mode, I don't think people will stop making regular gd levels. I'm pretty sure people will balance regular gd levels and platformer levels.
I feel like Rob would be the kind of guy to update the game tomorrow to troll you, but make it not actually 2.2 to troll everyone else

Platforming mode will have soooo much potential imo. I'm kinda excited for it! It's a different take on thye game, but an interesting one :D

You should try the 2.2 GDPS. It has the swingcopter and other 2.2 features.
I played that recreation yesterday wow. And it's insane how accurate it is, except for one portal effect and the spider not turning it's legs to the right wall in the square part

Man, the idea of having a harder version of the official levels is SO GOOD

@@cheeseburgermonkey7104 geometry dash private servers. The ones I know is 1.0. 1.9 (1.9 is the most popular) 1.6, 2.0 and the 1.4 and 1.5. Not sure if a 1.7 and 1.8 exist

I think the reason people aren't excited for platforming mode is because they worry they'll be mixed in with normal levels. I love the idea, but I think they need separation, sort of like how Osu's alternate modes are considered entirely separate.
All for the idea and excited, but I'd like to be able to tell beforehand whether a level is traditional or platformer, or even better have an alternative leaderboard and tab for them.
Well, guess what? That's exactly what's gonna happen! So there's no need to worry, we can just be excited for it :D

My ideas for 2.2+:
Coin levels - 15-20 seconds long difficult challenge, which after you complete it, you get from 1 to 3 coins (depends on difficulty.)
Drill gamemode (something like in the video) - you jump automatically all the time in height of 1 block, after you hold/click Drill gets down to the ground really fast, and it bounces up higher (max. 5 blocks in height.)
There aren’t gonna be any gamemodes other than the Swing in 2.2 lol

Something that would be cool is that the platformer mode is like a trigger so you can have half the level normal and the other half in platformer mode
of course trigger platformer will be optional

Dude I tried Future Dash (2.2 recreation fangame)'s platformer mode and yeah it was a bit jank and buggy but it was so much fun, I loved it.
The swing copter is the ball combining of the ship
