When your dad is a pro and he starts you young, you tend to do better than other kids in your age class. The same held true with me and my two brothers. Our dad was a pro bowler and started us out at age 6. By the time I was 8 my brothers and I were a team. When I was 9 the officials decided we needed to play against the next higher age group. We beat them too. The next year I was 10 and they tried to put us against teenagers 15 years and up, but my dad put his foot down. We continued to compete against kids two age groups higher than us and we took first place every time. As we got older girls and cars became our focus and bowling took a distant third. My dad had a huge showcase in his living room that had all of our trophies in it and he would brag about it anytime someone came over. My brothers and I teamed up a few more times after high school, but it just wasn't the same. Family and everyday life just tends to get in the way sometimes.
