Yes they are actually in those places. TEMKA is by the water because that's his element he's playing the guitar called the Tovshuur or lute, JAYA is by the trees because his element is wind he was playing the mouth harp. GALAA the one in the black is on a mountain because his element is Earth he is playing the 2 Stringed instrument called the MORIN KHURR OR HORSE HEAD FIDDLE, ENKHUSH IS IN THE DESERT because his element is FIRE HE ALSO plays the MORIN KHURR. THE location is in Mongolia.

The language they're singing is Mongolian, and the music genre is - according to them - is Hunnu Rock (Hunnu is how we Mongolians call The Huns). There are more Mongolian bands who make more "western" rock music and more who do folk rock music as well. They're somewhat unique in that sense. And, the landscape is actually real.

@@A_Black_Sheep94 The Huns are generally believed to be the ancient ancestors of Mongolians and is celebrated as is, just like how Genghis Khan is celebrated here (tho I'm not sure how rest of the world teaches history)
And in Mongolia, there is a word "hun" which means person, and many other words that use the basis of this word and means humanity, son etc, which is the reason they've named the band The Hu.

You need to use CAPTIONS on this song wolf totem and The GREAT CHINGGUS KHAAN. THE 2 stringed instruments are called Morin khuurs or horse head fiddles, the guitar looking thing is a tovshuur or lute the type of singing is called Mongolian throat singing. The instrument in his mouth is a jaw harp. Yes they are REALLY THERE!!

  • @colonelb

    *YES! Awesome thank you!*
(Yes they are really there - that's Mongolia)
If you like video games - they did the "alien songs" for the *Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order* video game - (that's how I first found them)
I think it's really cool to hear different instruments and styles of singing from different parts of the world. It really shows how universal music really is - it can sound really different and also familiar at the same time.
Glad ya liked it, Cheers bud!

The reason why it reminded you of that Lion Turtle scene feom Avatar is because Tibetan throat singing, which is quite similar to the Mongolian style, was playing on the back during that scene. It is a part of Tibetan Buddhist culture. Also, remember that the inspiration for the Air nomads in ATLA was Tibetan culture so it makes sense.

They are finishing-up their second tour in the U.S. They recently posted a video for "This is Mongol" filmed on the road while in California, Mohave desert instead of Gobi. Because Mongolia is fairly small, the nationally sponsored film and music industries have given most of The Hu MVs a very polished cinematic style. There are also live sessions played for several U.S. radio stations. Haunnu Rock!

@@A_Black_Sheep94 China does claim Mongolia. It recently has been trying to force Mongol children to learn Chinese and not use Mongol.
