My hybrid Mbuna are always very colorful.. Sometimes they are much more colorful than the parents.. With an aquarium full of different Mbuna, the babies are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will get.. In some cases, the eggs had to have been fertilized by multiple males.. I know that Most people are not interested in hybrids and I didn't think that I was either.. Until I began to see young fish with awesome colors and patterns, now I'm hooked.. But, don't tell anyone..
Just got my cichlid geek t-shirt in the other day. Perfect for wearing at work since i manage the fish section at a pet store. Thanks for the good videos too, i'm always coming back to them
Hi Richelle, Good info. I have a 125 gallon peacock / hap all male tank. For the most part they get along pretty well. No major issues with aggression. There were 3 fish that just didn’t color up. I have had them almost a year. I figured they were female so I took them out and put in a 60g grow out tank. Within 24 hours one of them colored up a bunch! Very strange he didn’t get bullied or anything in the 125. Since I put him in the smaller tank he now pops after a few weeks. Blew me away! The other 2 nothing yet. 🐠
maybe its becuase the diet or the envirolment of the ciclihds sometimes if ciclihds dont like the envirolment the get stressed and thats what cuase them to lose or fade colors
Hi Richelle, Kelvin from the Gold Coast Queensland Australia here. Love your channel. Question, I have a Tropheus yellow, can it eat the same food the rest of my lake Malawie Peacocks are? I’ve only just got him. Thanks in advance
Hello Richelle, I just found your channel today, your videos and informations are great, i enjoy watching them, i hope for more future videos! greetings from north germany, Harry
Great video again you come out with a video after I've been scratching my head wondering why my fish haven't been coloring up lol. Thanks great informative video.

I change water 50% once in a week and add required liquid meds. Please tell this is very important for me to know.
Love your videos, I never seen you do a video on medicating fish ,it would be nice if you could do this, I would imagine you have some good info to offer.
Hi Richelle and thanks for another awesome informative video. I've learnt so much from you channel. Just a quick question what fish is in the last tank you showed us at 9.57mins. It is big and black and has a wonderful blueish green iridescent shimmer. I've never seen one like that.
I have been here a while and your videos really help. But I have a question. My Mbunas Pseudotropheuse salosi, they have stopped breeding. And nothing has really changed ...
plz tell me that recently i changes my aquarium gravel from stone to white sand and from then my water is very milky or hazy ..plz tell me what to do to clean my water that looks crystal clear? thanks
@@QuebecCichlides thanks you ; I know, but I can because I leave to work at 5:00 am , my aquarium lights is off , On and off only for feed ? What you think 🤔?
Hi I have a 75G tank with peacock cichlid.currently I'm using gravels as the substrate. Facing difficulty during the fortnight water change. I have a top filter with bio media and two large size sponge filters in the tank. If I remove a gravels and use as a bare bottom tank with couple of lava rock. Will it work or will I loose my fish
Love the video. Can I ask question, i have 5 yellow lab cichlids with 1.5 to 2 inches in size. Im just confuse why my 1 cichlid missing in the tank and the next day another cichlid missing again. What would be the possible reason why my fish are missing? I already look under the decorations and even in substrate. Thank you and I hope my question get answer. Godbless 😊
Can I ask you guys about something that isn't about the subject in this video ?? Is it Safe to use "The Original Poly Fil" Floss that is from Recycled material ?? I didn't pay any attention to the bag until I pulled it out to use it in an AquaClear 30 HOB to clear up the water in a tank that is over stocked.. My Mbuna keep having babies and it's difficult trying to keep up with giving them to the pet store, once they are big enough.. I put the Poly Floss in the filter and got it running.. Then I looked at the bag and saw that it is from recycled material.. I unplugged the filter immediately after seeing this.. I am a bit scared to use it because I don't know if it is safe to use in my filter.. If you can tell me if it's safe or not, I would greatly appreciate it..
hi...how r u?.. i also have cichlids aquarium and my cichlids are always digging sand and destroy the beauty of aquarium...plz tell me what can i do to stop them digging a lot?
Hi Richelle. I am loving your videos. Thank you so much for them. Your also easy on the eyes. I have 3 tanks at home. Need your expert opinion please. I have a red severum that swims vertically. We took him in as he's beautiful with a gorgeous personality. He has a slight deformity on his tail. What are your thoughts?
Lime green? What were you thinking? 🤢 Lol. Many aquarists suggest a piece of lettuce for mbuna; would spinach or kale work? Also, how are herbivorous Africans at eating green beans, squash or cucumber? My clown loaches love cucumber - even eating the skin. My true parrot cichlids will eat it in small pieces as well as banana or plaintains. Of course my ancistrus and Hillstream loaches devour anything green - French cut green beans being the favorite.
Think about removing this damn music in future videos, its so annoying man.. cant focus at all on what your saying ....but it was good informations tho.. ppl with not perfect english have problems understanding what your saying and its rly fustrating when u wanna hear it all. thank u ..

That's what cichlids do 😜 You can't stop them. Just embrace the chaos
Raise the pH for Africans to 8 or higher and you'll see them color up immediately.

My bumblebee's black stripes will go from very dark to barely visible in seconds.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
My tricks1 Water Cgange, 2- Water change and 3 Water changes, Did I mention water changes???
What do you think about water changes? 🤣
I built a rock wall full of caves for my African Cichlids.
