Wow. That looks like a job for an experienced mechanic - not sure I would have the confidence to do it with my bike. Great video though!

BMW love to make simple jobs as difficult as possible so you don't do them and they can charge a fortune for the repair 🤣

Don't you know there is a coolant drain plug on the bottom of each cylinder?
You have lots of remaining water in the cylinders when you don't open them and, later on, highly diluted antifreeze with a much higher freezing point.
And the water remaining in your cooling system is hard tap water which leads to scale build-up in the cooling system.
There's absolutely no point in removing the coolers and the thermostat. You just need to open the hose of the left cooler to remove the little bit of remaining water it holds.
With this video you're misleading people and don't do them a favor.
And I think you didn't do your GS a favor either with this work. She would, most likely, be better off with the old coolant.
Sorry but I had to say that.
    Greetings from Graz, Austria

I may have missed something but did you mix the anti-freeze with distilled water at 50/50 or put it in full concentrate?

Amigão o ar do sistema você tira através de apertar as mangueiras e ligar o motor sem a tampa do radiador para tirar as bolhas de ar????????, obrigado 👍🏻👍🏻😎

Hello and thanks for your comment, yes that is the easy way to get out all the air in the system or with a vacuum pump and compressed air, making sure is no air bubles .
      Thank you!

Hi, could you help me out , I’m trying to figure out what kind of antifreeze/coolant do I need for the R1200R? Thank you!

Strange, I own an 1250 rt and I asked my dealer, when are you gonna change the coolant ? He answered me the coolant rest a life time, on my previous honda and yamaha bikes they changed the coolant every 2 years

😮😮😮😮 Did you know that there are two drain plugs at the bottom of the engine which enables you to drain all the coolant from the radiators ... i’m sorry but this is a very bad example on how to change your coolant 🥺🥺🥺

When you flushed the engine block were you able to get all the tap water out before reassembly and coolant refill?

    • @baden-baden
      @baden-baden  3 года назад

Yes, you can use a air blower with compressed air or vacuum tool, I didn't show that part on the clip.
      Thanks

Your video failed the moment I seen you are using tap water to flush the system....now you left all the minerals to eat away corrode. Distilled water flush ONLY
