You mentioned that you disconnected your HomePods before setting up the Apple TV 4K via Ethernet. Since HomeKit does not allow you to choose your default HomeKit Hub, what happens when you plug the HomePods back in? Will an Apple TV 4K connected by Ethernet always function as the hub if you have HomePods on the same network?
@@OurAppleHome A day or two after plugging my HomePods and HomePod Minis back in, I noticed that the Apple TV 4K via Ethernet switched to standby and a HomePod took over. That made me think there is no real advantage of using an Apple TV 4K via Ethernet.
I’m a little vague about controlling the physical TV from Homekit. Right now, my SONY XBR-65X850E works great with Alexa but I would imagine it won’t with Homekit? Do I need another TV? EEEK! (That was nearly $3k a couple of years ago.
Are we talking just turning the tv on/off? Turn on the CEC settings and you should be good. If we are talking inputs, that might get tricky. You should not need a new tv.
Could you slow down a bit before you push the buttons on the home app please. You lost me at setting up your bridge. You pushed the screen button way to fast. I never saw it on the screen. Still looking for it.

Once you plug a Hub back in, it shouldn't take over as an active unless it needs to (like other hubs go offline)

how do you get apple tv to show as thread router? i have a few nanoleaf but i don’t see an option for it
You have to get the Eve Energy and use the Eve app to see that info.
