Great job keeping all the layers centered and aligned! Very much looking forward to seeing it after its been ground.
This Sunday will be a good video.
Looks like it should be pretty cool! Can't wait to see the bevel in it.
Seems like you had a good temperature range, got it hot enough but didn't melt the copper. Also, I see you're in Texas, me too..
Yeah, I saw your flag in that last video. I don't know where you live but it is crazy cold up where I live. When it comes to the heat, it was definitely a pain in the butt having to babysit the billet the entire time.
@@theriversexperience9383 I'm not too far from Lubbock, it's cold here too
Looks great Erick!
Nice! Great job!🔥⚒💪🏻
So sweet Erick! This is a super involved project! I would be so scared to heat treat it 😁
Oh I'm terrified lol. I'm about to heat treat it tonight.
@@theriversexperience9383 should work without any issue. I've already heat treated few blades of cu-mai, your work is so awesome and inspiring!! going to test some billet using your technique. Thank you.
Nice job Dude! You killed it! Can't wait to see the next one. I have made a few Cu Mai blades and I am falling in love with it.
That's going to be a nice looking knife when your done.
Good stuff! I think the knife will look pretty dope once finished!
Staying tuned for the next episode!
Thanks man!
I didn't catch what thickness your copper and 15n20 billets you started with. Can't wait to try this out!
They 1/16" thick.
Nice
Looks great what Hammer are you using
This is a 2.25lb Rounding Hammer from Walberg Forged.
Thank you Very good details in your videos enjoy watching
Will it be similar to a damascus pattern? And will the copper be hardened ? Im just curious
The copper will not cross the edge. The edge will only be 15n20.
@@theriversexperience9383 copper is hardened only by deformation not by quencing so cooper will be soft an very hard to keep it unscratched, that was my last problem wit it.
you didnt have to weld all the way around the billet ? like denis does it ? thanks
Welding all the way around makes it less stressful. You have to pay more attention if you don't weld it. The copper can melt out if your not looking.
@@theriversexperience9383 awesome thanks great job on that
I have a hard time believing that forge weld took, even though you heated it like 20 times.
Go ahead and watch this video and see for yourself if it took. Let me know what you think after you watch it.
