In February this year, I was fortunate enough to spend 13 days in Botswana's magical Mashatu Game Reserve. In that time, I had some unforgettable lion sightings, but this one must have been the highlight!
We came across the Majale Island lion pride late one afternoon after having heard the two dominant male lions roaring. The rest of the lion pride was close-by - all the mothers along with a few boisterous lion cubs.
Some of the lion cubs tried to play with their dads, but they were not interested at all. Luckily, their siblings and their mothers were keen to play, and we sat there watching them until the sun set...
