This is the first song I ever heard from them, with their cameo in the Netflix movie KATE. It immediately caught my attention. I paused the movie and went looking for "who performed the song" Come to realize the Band was real and played themselves in the movie and that the other amazing songs played throughout the move was them too...... Been my Favorite band ever since. It took me over 3 weeks to go back and finish the movie. Haha
Great that you commented on the lyrics. Few people do, surprisingly. Starts out seeming like it's going to be a generic song about about love, then gets steadily darker. To me it's clear that it's an emotionally abusive relationship by the end, but I guess the music's so joyful and uplifting that it's easy not to notice. Band-Maid are all about contrasts!
"Choose Me" a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic. Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are almost single-handedly bringing back the joys and soulfulness of rock for people from all places and ages to hear. Here's a great live MV of "Choose Me" that's not quite as punchy do to the mix, but still good: ruclips.net/video/HcqitbXgigU/видео.html Thx, Steve!
Definitely a true excellent pop-rock song. Took a few years but this song got them into a couple Hollywood soundtracks - Netflix movie “Kate” which is the song they’re playing in their club scene cameo (also “Blooming” plays in a car radio in car chase scene); then on the HBO John Cena “Peacemaker” series. Another perfect example of leaving you wanting more - I guess like the guy who must of lost out in the lyrics 🤷🏻♂️😂 🤘🏼
The other night Band Maid looked at me and said I choose you ! Then I fucken woke up 😭 What a band almost an impossible amount of talent , anyhow I'm going to try and sleep again and catch up where I left off 😝 viva the Maids peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎤🎸🍻
My favorite Band Maid lyric is in this song. "If you want my forgiveness, don't tell me you're sorry." It's too easy to say sorry. You have to show me you mean it.
When I've had a crappy day, I choose Band-Maid to brighten my day. Great reaction and thanks for the insights. Another song in my top 10 by Band-Maid (there are at least 50 B-M songs in my top 10).
It is catchy and mixed so well that even with quite modest listening equipment you can hear everything. Some people are asking for you to just drop everything and do the live version right now. Sooooò what are you waiting for.
Wonderful reaction to a lovely song. Some songs have crazy replayablity, some not so much. Most Band-Maid songs like this one fall into the former for me.
LIVE is always best as you have since noticed. THIS one in particular. The guitar at the end with Saiki in the song WONDERLAND is to be experienced LIVE.
can't agree more about MISA. They are all amazing but as a bass player... she is hands down my favorite. Not going into the whole fanboi "best" thing, but my favorite. Her tone, her phrasings, her technique... so busy but never dominating, never boring, just the exact perfect lick for the moment. From the moment I heard her bass tone on Play (live zepp Tokyo 2018) I was absolutely smitten with her tone. Her and Akane are in the pantheon of all time great Rhythm sections. 9 years, 7 LPs, 80 songs in? Definitely not a premature declaration, IMO.
So Steve, "Joyful, catchy, punchy. So much fun!" I'm sure I've used those same words. You should check out Puzzle live, maybe my all time favorite Band Maid song. You may have to go to BiliBili unless someone else knows how to find it. The lead is a little buried in the mix (strangely typical for their live videos) which sucks with Puzzle because Kanami seems to have a new killer riff for every part as it goes along. But you probably have better ears than I have. I just shift the balance slightly to the right and all is good.

I Choose this 💚BAND-MAID💜

It also makes an appearance in the DC series Peacemaker, episode 3 I think.
@@russellward4624 Awesome! I bet Kanami ends up scoring a movie sooner than people might think -- maybe 3-5 years for a title song at least.
'Joyful, catchy, punchy' is the perfect description. Such a great song :-)

Choosing Band-Maid is always a good choice. 🤙

Great description of this song, "Delicious!" Great song from Band-Maid!
As usual...the live is even better
RnR at its best!. This song is a rocket, probably the the one with the most impact (most listened in Spotify for example) even if it´s a 2017 song.
You always come back to the girls for melodic, singable rock music
"Misa, yes!" I completely agree and got a nice chuckle at that.
My favorite Band Maid lyric is in this song. "If you want my forgiveness, don't tell me you're sorry."

I usually listen to Be Ok about everyday. When Miku says "It's going to to be okay," I instantly feel better.
@@saikisfang9339 Same...

Their pop punk stuff shines through in this one, I think.
Yup. They have very strong punk DNA.
Watch the movie "Kate" that's how I found these awesome pop rock women!!!!!! So catchy and so cool!!
Wonderful reaction to a lovely song. Some songs have crazy replayablity, some not so much. Most Band-Maid songs like this one fall into the former for me.
Yes finally my favourite band-maid song
Band-maid has very strong punk DNA (probably stronger than their metal DNA).
There's a great live version for you to check out too 🤘
Love that song and love your BAND-MAID reactions! Keep'em coming!
They always leave you wanting more....
LIVE is always best as you have since noticed. THIS one in particular. The guitar at the end with Saiki in the song WONDERLAND is to be experienced LIVE.
Great reaction as always.. You should check out their songs Bubble, Warning and Alone. You will enjoy them..
Rarely do I agree 100% with the comments made by a reactor, but there are always exceptions, this is one of them. 🤘
Great to hear, thanks NEM!
In the dictionnary, when you look up the word "Irresistible", there's only one definition: "Choose Me"/Band-Maid

The LIVE version is even better! A whole other chorus? How about a whole other song? Do it! Do it now.
I like the MV because I can actually hear Kanami’s solos.
I asked for the live version as well because I think he works best under pressure.
MISA MISA MISA!
You are now a Maidiac. Like the outfits are there, but you see past that now. They really shine with their music and skills.
So Steve, "Joyful, catchy, punchy. So much fun!" I'm sure I've used those same words.
