I honestly feel like they used the old casts and some of the current casts costumes. Aragon is swimming in her costume the hip piece is too high, and I adore the actress who plays Cleves, but the cut is so off and It's not flattering at all.
There’s something about Natalie’s voice that always seems to make me genuinely think she is Jane Seymour. Like with the various casts I’ve seen so far, none of them can truly replicate how she fits into the role. I don’t know it’s the raw emotion she displays in Heart of Stone or the range but there’s one major thing that I feel is just... so right. Her voice has this certain regality to it, almost as if she isn’t a pop/rockstar (similar to the voices of many of the other casts) but a genuine queen who can’t let go of that part of her. It’s eerily obvious here, probably because this wasn’t the cast I’d seen her with a lot but the regality in her voice becomes so obvious, especially in the first “divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived”. Look at all of the Cleves’ for example. They always have that really strong Rihanna or Nicki Minaj influence so they always have this badass voice and an outgoing personality but if we were to look at Anne of Cleves herself, that wasn’t really her personality back then. Then we look at Natalie and her portrayal of Jane and it’s not hard to see the regality of a former queen, the warmth of a mother and the awkwardness of someone finally coming out of their shell and accepting freedom. Yeah, I get that it’s not meant to be historically accurate and all of the actresses have their own way of portraying their queens but Natalie’s really does hit different.
