Just started flatbed and on my first tarp load. Already put a couple small holes in my tarp from bungee hooks backsides. Ill be trying that bungee through the d ring suggestion for sure.
Bungee cord motto. If it can, it will. If you want it won't. Example, if you want it to hook on something it absolutely will not hook. But when you want it to hook on anything, it will snag everything in sight.

It's a more snug securement as well as increasing the longevity of the tarp
