    The pen that got away was the Pelikan m800 in ocean swirl when it came out it was like 450 and I was like Ill just wait a year went by checked again they were all sold out except for ebay and it was like 1200 dollars and I was like are these people insaid went to the pen show saw one asked the person if I could pick it up tried it out and asked the guy how much he wanted for it 1500 dollars I was like are you insane do you not want to sell pens ... I put it down and walked away and havnt thought about it till this moment ... I did happen to get the goldspot pen magazine and they had a picture of the Leonardy momento magico in emerald it looked exactly the same pattern as the ocean swirl only in teal instead of dark blue purple and I didnt even look at the price tag I went and got it and it was 199 out the door and I love that pen so much it is definitely a favorite pen if I had to run out the door if the house was on fire that would be the one it is so smooothe and beautiful :)

    The Pen that is called Carson is named after the makers young son. His son has his own line of custom color picked blanks all called Caron, Caron I, Carson II, Carson III etc. The maker also has another son that is picking colors for blanks to be made and are being named after him. Sorry I forget his name. Maybe do a little research before making a comment about a name of a pen..

      That's so cool to know! I love this! Unfortunately, we have a very limited amount of time to prepare for each episode, so I didn't have time to research it. The story about how the pen got named wasn't included in the information I had. 😥 Thanks for telling us!

    It was really fun and interesting to hear both your answers to these questions. We’re all so different but yet can understand each other’s perspectives so it’s really nice to listen to! I am with Laura on demonstrator pens, but I love when slight translucency is part of the design - that I’m ok with seeing a little bit of the inside of a pen. I agree with Leila on Hobonichi - I do think it’s much too overhyped and I bought it because others use and buy it, but I haven’t utilized it to the point where I feel I did it justice…so I decided not to continue with that planner, but I do want the 5 year for memory and looking back upon past entries! The pen that got away for me is Stilografica’s Leonardo MZ Euphoria. It’s a beautiful whimsical blank and I am going to trust the universe that if it’s meant for me, the right blank will be sold out there in the second market and I’ll get it. 😊

      But Marilyn, you already hate the feel of the L2k, so making it in a color that is, face it, irresistible, could induce a big fat case of cognitive dissonance. We both know I am right about that one.

    The woman who loves bling, who craves sparkle, but whose favorite longwriter is the Sailor 1911, a pen that is so boring looking, so monochromatic, so plain? Ok, I do not own one of these babies, so cannot give an opinion on the writing experience, but can one write a long piece without falling asleep when using that pen? There must be more to it.

    • @LeilaYounesPENBOUTIQUE

      I do love me some bling! A will say there IS something to be said about the Sailor nibs. Yes, the pens themselves look a little boring. I'll cop to that, but when I write with one of my 1911L's for a long time, it's sooooo satisfying!

  • @judyjacobs5827
    @judyjacobs5827 2 дня назад +1

    @Leila, would that Lamy nib fit any Lamy Safari-esque pens, like the ones I buy to give to possible penablees? That have bunnies and flowers and lemon slices painted on them? And the bright metallic ombre toned and the ones with the clip that the seller says is a bunny head but looks to me like an electric guitar? All have the nibs like staples, all have a finial button that sort of holds the clip on the cap, none say Lamy on them, but they might be made in some of the same factories. And I love your nails!

    • @LeilaYounesPENBOUTIQUE

      The Lamy cursive nib fits both Safari and Al-star models. Very easy to change! And thank you!

    Leila(?) sorry if I got name wrong, there are some custom pens that can be made to accept different nibs. One that is made in Australia can accept Sailor nibs.
    Also there is a type of Parker 51 you might like, Parker 51 Kullock . It's a pen made from Parker 51 parts/ntbs but with different resins! It's designed by Ariel Kullock. So it should write like a Parker 51, but looks different.

      @@LeilaYounesPENBOUTIQUE Ariel Kullock and his family are originally from Argentina. Though I've never met him, I have seen some of his work, and it is mindblowing. And I know Joshua, one of his brothers, who has the most adorable children and is pretty easy on the eyes himself. But he doesn't resurrect fountain pens afaik.

    I love demonstrators. I like to see everything! I often travel with Opus 88s. Lots on ink, and safe on airplanes, because of the cutoff valve.

      I really enjoyed trying Opus 88s for my blog, even though I'm not personally a fan of demonstrators! They are so fun to use, and the valve is great. I think it's so cool how there is something for everyone in the fountain pen world, and one person may find something unappealing but it's someone else's favorite thing. Diversity, yay!
