Regarding creek fishing combos: I suggest going whole hog and going straight to ultralight. It's just more fun. 13 Fishing Defy Silver UL, Okuma Celilo UL, and Shimano Sensalite UL are all pretty well regarded ~$50 ultralight rods. TFO trout & panfish UL is kind of a gold standard in the $100 range. 5'6"-6'6" is the sweet spot. Daiwa has several really good $30-70 1000 series spinning reels. Find the thinnest line you can find and go catch all the fish!
Doesn't Googan have ultralights?
I was just about to suggest the Okuma Celilo.
I've been slayin fish on the Shakespeare micro series for $20. They come in 4'6"-7' UL and L
I have a lil 5 footer combo and it’s great for creeks
I'd go with the okuma
Species (In order)
Spotted Sunfish (Lepomis Punctatus)
Bluegill (Lepomis Machrochirus)
Longear Sunfish (Lepomis Megalotis)
Bluegill Again
Longear Sunfish again. (A pretty big one too.)
My favorite creek combo is the St. Croix panfish series. Usually partnered with a Shimano Sedona. Great combo that will last forever.
Nothing like throwing ball head hugs around timber
That warmed my heart Trey, TJ, April loved your energy in this one y’all are big fam ❤ wholesome content keep it going!
One of the greatest fishing RUclipsr that I enjoy watching. Changed the fishing RUclips industry 👍🏽
This one, Norm and Ayo are 100% the best in whatever order you like.
@@chris-Ribble-Roots I agree with you, I would just add in JonB from Googan squad

Outstanding video, absolutely love me some good creek fishing. When im out creek fishing honestly i use a cheap 10 dollar walmart rig, but recently upgraded to a little Lew's cherrywood rod and its been an absolute game changer
Love this creek fishing series and learning with you all. Maybe a ocean pier series next so I can learn that too.
Loved April’s Pumpkin Seed buddy! Good on ya, girl! Trey, dude, you know your fish. Yak…when it comes to vids, I always choose you first because you are a natural entertainer! Love you guys!
That bobber was in the kit for a reason. You can float your bait forever without snags. The fish don't know why it's staying at the same depth, they just see a tastey snack above the snags moving with the current. Bobber on, cast 10 to 15 feet upstream from the hole and float it in.
I love this wholesome feel I’m getting from your videos lately
Loving these creek fishing videos! Thank you!
It’s always a good day when a new YakPak video drops . Keep up the good content Yak
I love these creek fishing videos! Honestly, my favorite ultra light combo is the $9.98 cheap small combos from Walmart. I use them creek fishing and pond fishing. I even use the 4 or 6# mono that comes on it
Great video. Very calming and satisfying to watch. Female in thw crew brightening things up as well. Congratulation on great series.
I absolutely l8ved this video! Amazing catches!!
Tray face thooo 😂❤ dude yak pak ... Your content is soo good I'm addict to your stuff !!!! In a good way and DUDE your camera is unreal I hope in Canada one day I'll be able to do this once again I've been struggling at fishing and fish have been active as heck out here just no luck I guess.. anywho yo and April ROCK 🪨🤘👨🎤👩🎤
Yak - I am liking these creek vids .... way to mix it up!
Love your videos keep up the great work
Lets goo another banger ready for this one creeks hit diff sometimes 🎣‼️‼️
yakpak love ur vids man, u and the guys, and everytime i watch ur vids makes me wanna go fishin. thankyou for ur content.
Dock demon is an amazing creek combo
Love the ultralight type vids man. Been doing it a lot myself. Much love from another Army angler
Great video keep up the creek fishing please I absolutely love my bass fishing but I offset the slow times with my ultralight and bfs setups and hitting the creeks. And it’s a great way to get kids and young people out and fishing.
Awesome to see the creek videos! Duckett Crappie slayer is a sweet rod for creek fishing might wanna check those out!
Ugly Stick and Shakespear Ultra Lite are great for creek fishing. They come in combos in the 4.5 to 5.5 ft range. Sturdy enough to set a good hook and great action when hooked up in brim.
Great video man!
For tight accurate target areas I use Ugly Stick Dock Runner Spinning Reel and Fishing Rod Combo. It is 3ft long with 6lbs test. Cost me less than $30. I use canned corn kernels as bait. Use cast and drift for best results. I bank fish so I do not scare the fish by wading too much. I use 30 to 45 degree angled casts.
Keep up the good work Red Leg. Still waiting on that centex expedition, meet ya on the waters around Ft. Hood.
Trout magnets work great with a ez float using the current. It limits the snags and break offs a bit. You set depth to float right along bottom
My favorite lure
As always awesome videos 👍
I Love these kind of videos
Never underestimate the power of the trout magnet. For creek fishing I like a 5'-6' light action rod with a size 1000 spinning reel spooled with 10lb braid and a 6lb leader.
All you need in North Florida is beetlespins!! 🤘🏻
As for combos, those little combos you have are fun for the creeks. If you’re looking for something better suited, you could even use the Googan Green Finesse with a Green Series reel (shameless plug for your own gear!).
Trey’s first fish is a pumpkinseed.
Come to Jacksonville and we can float on Durbin/Julington Creek. 🤘🏻
Hey TJ most of my videos that I make are creek fishing. My favorite setup for ultra light fishing. St croix triumph 6"6 matched with a diawa fuego 1000 series. I normally will use 6 pound braid with a four pound flouro leader. Also when wading in the creeks, try not to run through the water, it scares the fish.😂 great video man!
Great video. Enjoyed it. Looking forward to more. God bless.
The first fish was so pretty. Love to watch you, it always a good day when you post.
My son and I use the 4'6" ugly stick from Walmart (about $50) and the Pfleuger Presidential spinning reel. The smallest model they make. It's a GREAT combo. We also use 10 or 15lb braid since the snags are guaranteed. Great video guys.
We need more of these vids
Sup TJ, great time, creeks are a fun adventure, funny how conventional baits don't usually work, I use crappie baits, tyvm tc 🎣
Love creek fishing. Here in MO where I have gone, the creeks have those deeps spots. I have pulled some solid bass with ribbon tails and grubs. But a lot of smaller bass species, blue gill/brim. It's so fun to walk back. Gets real fun when you're chest deep and have a gar pan across your front a few feet away lol
Love the videos
April is gonna have to make a video on how to set up and fish this great FRED RIG ✌️
Trout Magnet can also be bought at Bass Pro Shops as well. It's an outstanding lure
Awesome video. I believe the first fish Trey caught was a rockbass hybrid based on the eye color. It most likely crossbred with a green sunfish. The pumpkin seeds are actually long ear sunfish.
I’m not familiar with Florida creek fish, but the first one wasn’t a rock bass hybrid, mouth wasn’t big enough. The long ear sunfish is correct. Pumpkin seeds have a red spot behind the ear.
It was a spotted sunfish, commonly called a stumpknocker.
Pflueger makes awesome ultra-light combos. I have a 5'6" combo with 4 pound line on it that I've caught anything from 3 pound LMB to tiny bluegill. It can cast a feather across a creek like that.
I love my Daiwa REVROS LT Combo Travel Pack, 6'6 Length, Ultra Light for creek fishing. I always have it in my truck for my go to, also have tackle in the case that it comes with.
Being honest. I’ve resubscribed about Three weeks to a month ago. You are better of doing your own thing. You & Norm like for reel guys. 🤘🤘🤘
Beautiful fish species! You guys ROCK❤❤🎉🎉
Bass Pro Shop Microlite spinning combo might do the trick for you for creek fishing! Good content once again!
Love the video YakPak. I do a lot of creek/small river fishing in the upper Midwest for trout, small mouth and walleye. My go to creek rod is a 6'6" medium light spinning setup with 10 pound braid and usually attach a 8-12 pound flouro carbon leader. I'm throwing ned rigs, inline spinners, small jigs like your using in the video and small/medium crank baits and jerk baits. Hope this helps and thank you for your great and enjoyable content.
Fred rig for the win!!! Love vids with trey, if he had a channel I would subscibe so fast, good vid as always yak!
The best rod I've ever used for lures that size is the Temple Fork Outfitters Trout & Panfish rod. TFO is best known for their fly rods, but they make a fantastic spinning rod too. It's well made, strong, and very sensitive.
You had your craw rigged upside down the whole time. Lol
Any and every ultra light kit will be awesome - 2lb test, keep it SUPER ultra light! I rock a 5' 6" rod and 1000 reel with my setup and just pulled in a 3lb bass this weekend with it!
When it's too windy to fish and your board but you see a yak pak notification
Everglades fishing that would be epic! Catch all kinds of fish..
Awesome video YakPak. I like seeing you three on the videos. I believe the Googans should do another US Challenge. I like seeing those videos. I believe this time you guys should do 2v2 googan and a viewer US Challenge. Hint hint😉😉. Honestly love seeing all of you guys, u have thought me alot thanks to that.
love the content bro keep it up, half a milli soon!
Gotta love the Fred Rig 🎣
You definitely deserve to get to half a million! Better yet. You need a milly!!!
A creek fishing combo I think is good is the ugly stick gx2, the tip is pretty sensitive to feel the bites and the back bone is strong enough for very tough fish it’s good for creek fishing overall
I use the same thing with some 8lb line and it’s worked out great
Can't beat an Ugly Stik, boss @@westonator0523
I use one with a Mitchel 300. Works great for bass and panfish.
Similar to the little rigs you had here Ugly Stick makes one Calle the Dock Runner. I keep it in my bag when I go out no matter where you go. Enough back bone to pull a 2-3 pound bass but small enough to walk around all the overgrowth
Treys 1st fish was what we call a Stumpknocker. Gotta learn the florida man lingo trey and yak!! Lol
I love those wicked ice hornets!!! They are amazing ice fishing rods!!! If you ever to Colorado during the winter I can put you and then rods to work!!
April and the Fred rig is a powerful combo.
I personally go creek fishing with a 6 ft medium St. Croix Triumph rod with a shimano 3000 vanguard spinning reel with a T-shape handle for better grip. Although that depends on the bait you use, what your fishing for, and how much you want to put into it. As you have said, you don't need an spend a ton to catch fish, it's just nicer. I also recommend a solid backpack that is nice on the shoulders for terminal tackle because it goes quick on bad days at the creek.
That was so cool❤😂😂
The old Fred Rig 😂 still dying!!!
Any medium light rod about 6 foot. 4 lb line. Perfect setup for the creek.
Awesome video my man! Creek fishing is the best.
I use Mr. crappie poles for creek fishing. My absolute favorite though is an Academy H2O Express ultra light that I have had for several years.
Great video 😊 I setup a native fish tank with pumpkinseed sunfish and green sunfish
The first fish Trey caught is a spotted sunfish. Also, I love a 6’8” light moderate rod with a 1000 size reel, paired with 4lb flourocarbon for artificials or 4lb mono for live bait.
Just throwing it out there... the Lews SpeedStick combo from Walmart never lets me down.
Looked like a rock bass. It being small may be a hybrid sunfish.
Never doubt the fred rig!
My favorite fishing rod and reel for creek and river fishing is the MR. Crappie dock shooter.
You should come to Lake Erie in NY when the trout are running it is so fun
nice-looking first fish
My go to is a kastking zephyr bfs, on a cheap light 5' 6" bass pro classic 200 rod. Entire combo less than $100 but with 10lb braid to 8lb leader, I can throw anything from a trout magnet to a small whopper plopper. Baitcasters are a blast in the creeks.
My go to creek fishing combo is the Shakespeare micro series rod from Walmart with a Shimano 500 or 1000 4# mono. Catch everything, bluegill, rock ass, smallmouth, largemouth, drum. Highly recommend
One day I'll be able to fish with you. Love watching the videos.
T.j. ol buddy googan crappie rods are just lite enough to fish them there creeks yall are fishin. And the baby bandito bug and mini Dart are working love the videos keep up the awesome vidges and we'll keep watching till next time tight lines buddy
Shakespeare makes a Ugly Stik combo that is a really great little setup for creek fishing. I use one for that and pond fishing and it is an awesome little combo to use. Look for the Ugly Stik Dock Runner Spinning Combo.
That first fish Trey caught looked like a green blue gill.
Fire video
I like my 5’0 Mr. Crappie rod with a Daiwa Regal LT reel. I use it for creek, crappie, pond, and finesse fishing.
My go to creek combo is the 5 foot to 6 foot Lew’s Laser Lite, with 2 to 6 lb test spooled on the reel
YAK, AT WALMART THERE ARE SOME GOOD 5 FT CREEKFISHING COMBOS BUT THEY ARE SPINNING REELS, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
I do maintenance casys all the time when I’m practicing flipping with casting and spinning reels. It’s the best way to prevent backlashes.
Y’all should do a catch clean and cook there
I think what we need to see is a “build your own creek setup” video. Maybe one for each of you.
Right now I’m using a
St. Croix 6ft Light/Fast spinning rod
Diawa Revros LT 1000
8LB Braid w/6 LB Fluoro Leader
Or if you wana dabble… look into some BFS gear. More pricey and more headache
I have found that an ultralight 5'6" to a light that is maybe 6' spinning combo is a good choice. Personally I have a Mitchell brush rod that is around 4' .I find that shorter rods work better for me.
I finally learned how to use ultralight rods and lures. 5 ft Daiwa ultralight and a grub
Yep, i use a Shakespeare micro series rod in both 5'6" ultralight and 6' light with a Daiwa crossfire reel
Best budget combo bit there are definitely higher end rods n reels that are fantastic
Let's gooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your the best. Keep it up
♥🧡
I've used those Trout Magnet kits. I'll clip a gold spoon on, and those will catch pan fish and trout all day; anywhere, any water conditions!!
Really looked like a rock bass to me, there are tons of different types of blue gill out there so hard to tell but certain looked with those lines to be some sort of rockbass
Lews mach light!! Perfect!!!😊 it’s black and yellow
I use a little crappie rod and reel with super light line for creek fishing bout it at Walmart!! Haven’t had any issues with it and have caught plenty of fish
I have made the dock runner from Walmart my official creek fishing combo. Put some 10 lb braid on that thing and you can catch anything in the creek.
Daiwa Presso 6’6”-7’ UL spinning rod with a Daiwa Regal LT 2000D or Shimano Miravel 1000 with Hercules 6lb braid is my go-to. Perfect balance and you can handle any fish you’ll hook up with. The rod and reel(Regal) are $70 each and I have yet to find a nicer UL action rod for my needs. The copper accents also mirror each other nicely on the rod and reel if you’re into that kind of thing. Going to buy another 7’ rod just as backup.
My favorite creek fishing setup is a duckett crappie slayer the smallest size ( 6 ft light ) and a 1000 size Shimano Sedona with 15 pound braid
