Ninth album from the Norwegians Leaves' Eyes who return with the album "Myths of fate."
Alexander Krull was mainly responsible for the composition of the new pieces offered in total eleven here, except the superb “In Eternity” written by their Finnish singer Elina Siirala.
The album tackles the fantastical and magical world of legends from Nordic and Eastern European mythology throughout the Middle Ages.
With 'Forged In Fire', Leaves' Eyes hits hard from the start. The title is an excellent piece of symphonic metal.
On 'Hammer Of The Gods', 'Sons of Triglav' or 'Einherjar' a nice vocal duet emerges between Elina and Alexander on the growl.
These tracks have an epic side with a catchy chorus and a calmer break.
Leaves' Eyes also knows how to calm things down.
'Realm Of Dark Waves', 'Who Wants To Lie Forever' and 'Fear The Serpent' remind me of Nightwish.
Ballads full of charm, 'In Eternity' and 'Goddess Of The Night' also stand out in which Elina offers singing full of sweetness.
With “Myths Of Fate”, Leaves’ Eyes signs a beautiful album, well balanced, symphonic and heavy which has all the qualities to please fans of the genre.
Leaves' eyes retains its place as one of the leaders of symphonic metal with Elina who makes us forget Liv Kristine.
For fans of Within Temptation, Nightwish, Delain, Xandria, Epica.
