I love Good Good. Their dynamic and content really got me into RUclips Golf content but I was disappointed with what they put out when Grant and Micah left. I respect Bubbie for so many reasons but his comment about being betrayed was too far. There has to be an understanding that people are in different stages of their lives. Grant was newly married, wanted to spend more time with his dad and felt like he had done all he could in the group.
That whole good good golf going to split up as life happens… you make a little money meet some people , even meet the love of your life and all of a sudden life is looking very different for all these guys! You can’t blame Rahm for leaving the pga tour for a brighter future and you can’t blame these guys for making the best decisions they can for themselves

Grant and micah have gone on to do better things. And matter how you feel about them, you dont get better at golf by playing the goofy games good good plays. "4 vs 3 scramble with blinfolded caddies and club lost on every hole". Its how you get wose at golf and you see that with Luke whos become a worse player since joining them. Grant and micah wanted to chase real golf goals whether they become successful pros or not. I can see why goodgood would be funner to watch as a high handicap whos only goal is to have fun with the boys, but anyone with actual desire to be the best golfer they can be doesnt find much value in watching them. All the power to them for doing what they do, but its not for everyone
You should ask Micah how is the relationship with his cousin. Business is one thing and family is another. I’m curious to see how they managed that tension.
This was a historic moment in the evolutionary chart of the YT golf space. It destroyed, and helped create at the same time. You were even something "born" from it Nate. There were a ton of new collabs in and out of the YT golf space and it expanded the community. Glad everything has settled down since that day of the announcement and it seems like everyone is thriving for the first time in my opinion.
the reality is that grant used goog good to grow then went on to do his own thing, which is fine, but let's not pretend grant didn't do exactly that. he wanted to create more "hardcore" golf content (vlogs/break this score/etc) vs. the "fun" goodgood stuff but he absolutely and 100% joined goodgood, grew his channel off of goodgood, then left lol
there was a GM_golf video from a couple weeks ago, i think the one he plays with a female friend of his and he tells her how his channel started and credits Micah in it, about how Micah drove down and they moved in together to start the channel.

Haha nah all me man - I intentionally try to keep my edits slower paced. I personally feel RUclips has gotten to fast and annoying with cuts over the years, I’m trying to slow my stuff down a bit. But in certain scenarios like today, it makes sense to have something a bit more epic haha

HOWEVER, the direction the channel was headed, I'm not sure the longevity of the content suited all the players. Micah, Garret, and Grant were always the better players while Steve, Bubbi, and Mat made the channel funny and full of surprises. For Grant and Micah to take their game and own channel to the next level, that would mean they'd need to leave GG. Grant and Micah were trying to play serious golf,, while Mat, Bubbi, and Steve just wants to ass clown in front of the cameras. The GG is out here playing with vacuum cleaners and frying pans and silly shit, so that direction was hindering the growth of Grant and Micah. Now, Grant and Micah have made it so they're filming with so amazing content, celebrity guests and even playing in high-level tournaments. Not to mention both have improved their golf game tremendously since they've left GG. To be honest, I do feel like Garret and Luke will be leaving real soon because they know they'll eventually evolve from GG too. Hell, Luke was once playing at a high level of golf, and how long he thinks GG is going to keep his talent at bay? Not long because he knows he can compete with the big dawgs out there, hell look at his channel and you can even tell he's a foot out the door already. As soon as Garret figures out that he's ready to take his game more seriously because he really does have a great swing and can make great serious golf content on his own,, then he's out the door too. GG is a really good channel and soon it will be Bubbi, Steve, and Mat from the original crew left.

The issue I had was that the guys that left portrayed it as moving on to do other things. Then immediately the contract info comes out and the content type continued. So they weren’t doing other things, but the same thing away from Good Good. The collabs started and matches. So some negative criticisms may have been warranted.
I'm glad you mentioned Shiels. I unsubscribed after his Grant rant. A few things led up to it starting with his passive-aggressive comments to Guy when Guy was leading during a video, then he changed the format of a video part way through because he had already realized he wouldn't finish successfully, then the whole Grant thing put me over the edge. His ego kinda took over and it was during a low point in his game. I used to look forward to his Friday videos but I just couldn't enjoy them anymore. We are super lucky to have so many channels in the YT golf space and that wouldn't have happened without the GG split.
