Will Smith's way of thinking is full of toxic masculinity. He could have given a very hurtful answer by words, not by assault. Jada, his wife, is an adult and doesn't need to be menorized by her husband in her capacity to give later a good answer to the joke about her hair. She doesn't need that a man slapps another one because of her. The problem is that Will needed that to prove to himself and to the world that he is a man. But a real man has full control over his emotions, don't do a crime.

In their defence, they HAD to like- announce it. The award had already been made so like- u know, what r u to do. I mean I agree it should be taken away, but in the moment the person reading it kinda didn’t have many other options. Your 60 seconds on the red carpet, after you have worked so hard to be there (REGARDLESS your color, race, religion, sexual orientation, etc., etc...)--are for you! NO ONE wants to hear you complaining about how "there should be more of US". Mostly because unless you are a straight white male--you will have something to complain about. So, look around--or at the person INTERVIEWING YOU!--and enjoy the moment! There are 364 other days a year when you can complain. And we have all heard it already before anyway!
