Loved the video. Very informative! This definitely helped me replace my primary clutch. My only thing is, I fired it up and my secondary is spinning now. I’ve been doing some research and I keep seeing that it might have to do with the shims placement? You think I have to break it in?
Well my clutches were worn out. They were tired and damaged so the new clutches obviously bring back the level of performance I had when the machine was brand new. In addition setting up the weights and springs to suit my wheel/tire size and driving style help a lot. I also have a stage 3 engine tune and some other modifications so dialling everything in to work together added a ton of benefit. The clutching is now smoother and the machine feels more refined and more powerful. The power onset is better and the power output is improved. The upgraded helix also helps a lot. There are a lot of benefits to clutch modifications. I suggest doing some reading on the topic. It’s a hard question to answer because there are a lot of variables at play.

Hey Beau. Yup, it's a set of fan blades. You may not have heard me but in the video I mention that its a Primary fan cover from Aftermarket Assassins. It increases air flow up to 50CFM and in turn can decrease belt temps noticeably, depending on riding conditions. You can get some more details on it on the Aftermarket Assassins website, here is a link: aftermarketassassins.com/products/ols/products/aa-xpt-primary-clutch-fan-blade (I am not affiliated with AA in any way and don't receive any commission or kick back from recommending their parts, I just really like them)
Hey Julian, I am a huge fan and enjoy all your videos. I have kind of a weird question. What kind of hoist do you use? I have a 10,000 lbs forward hoist, it’s both symmetrical and asymmetrical, and when I put my 17 general up on it, because of the plastic skid plates, I have to use my outer frame rails. It’s kinda a struggle to get the machine positioned perfectly because the arm length is so long. I noticed you put your arms in a location closer to your suspension mounts. Do you have an Atv specific hoist or are you taking your skid plates off? Can you elaborate a bit on this? When I put mine up it sometimes seems a bit sketchy
Sorry for the delayed response just noticed your comment. It’s a 10,000lb automotive hoist. When I am doing a bigger job I remove a portion of the skid plate but when I don’t I do the front two corners where the frame rails start in the outside of the machine and as far back as my arms will rear on the rear rails under the engine/trans area. I also use my 6 inch risers to level it all out and clear everything. If I push on the machine it does sway quite a bit but it’s actually on there really good. It took me some trial and error to figure it out but it works for me. It’s far from perfect but I’d say it is totally safe in my case. Sometimes I struggle with certain cars even the first time im lifting them.

I was just wondering if you know what the compression rate is on the new springs that you are installing just an example 130- 220 so the 130 would be the poundage of the spring just being installed and the 220 would be the rate when the clutch is at full shift out and spring is fully compressed I am just curious if they give you the spring rate or if they don't tell you like they don't tell you what the actual degree of angel on the helix . I know it's a very common practice to not tell the customer some of that Information. So you don't just buy one kit and then just buy the parts by themselves to save money and build the same kit for your buddy and save you some money don't get me wrong I have all the tools and ability to check the spring compression rate and I can figure out the helix angle the number on the helix is just a number that they put on there as a code that they have a chart to look up the number on it and then they can cross it over to the actual degree of the helix also what is the total weight of each of the cam arms when they are set up ready to be installed if you have any of that Information that you can share would be pretty interesting thanks very much and have a great day . ... Bob.....
@@juliocalderon8806 certain clutch issues and failures are most defiantly covered under warranty. Polaris has had many such issues and will cover issues related to known design problems, defective components or in wider cases, recalls.
The worst thing you can do is hold the back of the clutch by the fins the Polaris tool is junk you can actually spin the steel shaft in the aluminum if you make the steel shaft to the aluminum sheave and probably 75 percent of the time the shaft with spin a little bit and the clutch will fail sooner and cause more belt Temp ( higher temperature) the best tool will look like the end of the crank shaft that goes into the clutch and you tighten it up like it was going back on the crank and that way you don't hurt the clutch when do you have to use your puller again to remove the clutch from the tool trust me this will save you money in the long run and your clutch will last longer good luck and have a great day.. I was wondering if possible to get in contact with you about my rzr build I am doing I have a 2015xp1k sentimental value have done a full cage with dom tube and also have done a full super atv long travel suspension. Next I am doing a full motor build and adding a turbo. I have new billet crank and rods with cp pistons at 9.5:1 compression
Thanks Greg!! Stoked you enjoy the content. Feel free to shoot me an email at AdrenalineJunkieProduction@gmail.com
Sounds like a sweet build man!!! I’d love to hear more about it!
I will definitely be in contact would also love to meet up for a ride sometime
@@gregbell496 let’s make it happen man! Where you based out of?
I am out of Georgian bay area
@@gregbell496 that’s not too far. Maybe we can make it happen. Is there a lot of Good riding out your way?
Loved the video. Very informative! This definitely helped me replace my primary clutch. My only thing is, I fired it up and my secondary is spinning now. I’ve been doing some research and I keep seeing that it might have to do with the shims placement? You think I have to break it in?
What was the culprit?
Awesome but what's the benefit of this clutc????
Great video 👍 very informative. Thanks
Thanks for checking out the video, I hope you find it helpful. I tried to be as in depth as I could without getting too repetitive. If you have any questions or additional suggestions for viewers leave a comment below. All the new components I installed during this video are from Aftermarket Assassins and I’ve had excellent results with this setup so far. I’ve been out on multiple rides in mixed conditions and the clutching is a massive improvement. Mike at Aftermarket Assassins was super helpful making sure I select all the parts I need to get the results I was after. Don’t forget to subscribe, like on Facebook and follow on Instagram!!!
Hey great video
Where do you take your chocks to rebuild
Wow awesome video
Thanks Robert!! Glad you found it interesting man!
these same clutch fits on rzr xp 1000 turbo?2021?
My first question is is the only thing you work on your equipment or do you actually work on other people's ATVs that's irrelevant really.... However your knowledge of speed shift messages and all of that stuff I find it phenomenal... And here's what I'm making a comment on your website I have a Vmax 700 triple sx ..... You're going to like this.. as far as clutching goes maybe you can help me with my adventure.. I'm sure you already know I'm dealing with a snowmobile I live in Michigan.. there's more I modified used clutch to go onto the engine shaft from at 3 40 bravo. Because they're primary clutch has a oil gear .. it has been removed I'm about to install the clutch with the saying weights and everything as if 380 or the 340 should I say is it your opinion I'm using the same spring on the original clutch.. what if any performance would I get out of putting an older clutch off of another used but re-fabbed.. effect will it have on my sled which is mint condition with reverse find out let me know and don't waste your time if you're extremely busy try ranking from mosquito Michigan no I love where I live Muskegon county Michigan please respond the nephew do it doesn't have to be directly by you but someone that has similar knowledge and, since like you uvideos are Awesome
whats that black fan thing youre bolting to the primary? mine doesnt have that? cooling of some sort?
Hey Beau. Yup, it's a set of fan blades. You may not have heard me but in the video I mention that its a Primary fan cover from Aftermarket Assassins. It increases air flow up to 50CFM and in turn can decrease belt temps noticeably, depending on riding conditions. You can get some more details on it on the Aftermarket Assassins website, here is a link: aftermarketassassins.com/products/ols/products/aa-xpt-primary-clutch-fan-blade
(I am not affiliated with AA in any way and don't receive any commission or kick back from recommending their parts, I just really like them)
Hey Julian, I am a huge fan and enjoy all your videos.
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd thanks for the reply. I do appreciate it. I love your full length context and your rally documentary. Keep up the great work. I hope to start making videos in the near future, so I am happy you had those videos you made about the subject. Thanks for all you do
@@Squirrel440 thanks for the positive feedback man! Glad you enjoy the videos. I have a lot of fun making them so it’s always awesome to hear comments on what people think.
Thanks brother
Appreciate Brother !
@36:25 The direction of spin on your clutch doesnt change. Is that what you meant?
You are correct. Not sure what I was thinking here man. What I meant was the clutch always spins one way. Not sure why I said the direction changes in reverse. It’s obviously the transmission that controls all that. Just a brain fart. Very observant of you picking that up!! Thanks for clarifying and correcting me.
What do i do if the factory washer with the lil hole is broken for the secondary? Is it necessary?
Yea it is necessary. Buy a new one from the dealership. They are not expensive. Even the aftermarket snap ring delete kits still utilize that washer.
Almost 7 minutes till actual information happens
What's your point? It's called an intro. The video is 110 minutes long. 7 minutes is like 5% of that. In comparison that's like complaining about a 10 second intro on a 3 minute video, lol. You can always skip ahead if you don't like it or make a better video and post it. Anyways, hope you found the info you needed.
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd I'm just kidding. I would still complain about the ten seconds!!
Also have you had any experience with, Hunter works belts/clutches?
@@philturinsky27 lmao, I’m just busting your chops too man. I haven’t had any personal experience with hunterworks but I’ve heard a lot of positive things about them in general. I like running G-Boost belts. I’ve had good luck with them. No one in our crew has run the hunterworks belt so I’m not sure how it compares.
Where is the video for getting off a stuck turbo primary clutch?
Hey Shirley, here is a link to the video on how to remove a stuck clutch: ruclips.net/video/mschqiplg0c/видео.html&ab_channel=AdrenalineJunkieProd

What kind of clutching and tune are you running on your machine?
X3 xrc, ibexx stage 3 clutching coming soon, whalen speed when i decide to tune
@@miller440x I’m guessing the can-am game has some slightly different options available. Haven’t heard of those.
I was just wondering if you know what the compression rate is on the new springs that you are installing just an example
130- 220 so the 130 would be the poundage of the spring just being installed and the 220 would be the rate when the clutch is at full shift out and spring is fully compressed I am just curious if they give you the spring rate or if they don't tell you like they don't tell you what the actual degree of angel on the helix . I know it's a very common practice to not tell the customer some of that Information. So you don't just buy one kit and then just buy the parts by themselves to save money and build the same kit for your buddy and save you some money don't get me wrong I have all the tools and ability to check the spring compression rate and I can figure out the helix angle the number on the helix is just a number that they put on there as a code that they have a chart to look up the number on it and then they can cross it over to the actual degree of the helix also what is the total weight of each of the cam arms when they are set up ready to be installed if you have any of that Information that you can share would be pretty interesting thanks very much and have a great day

strike the puller with hammer to remove primary
I don't know how to get culth off of shaft it is still
I have a video on my channel on how to remove a stuck clutch. It should help you.
Warranty or not, anything clutch related is considered a wear and tear item, which won't cover u
@@juliocalderon8806 certain clutch issues and failures are most defiantly covered under warranty. Polaris has had many such issues and will cover issues related to known design problems, defective components or in wider cases, recalls.
The worst thing you can do is hold the back of the clutch by the fins the Polaris tool is junk you can actually spin the steel shaft in the aluminum if you make the steel shaft to the aluminum sheave and probably 75 percent of the time the shaft with spin a little bit and the clutch will fail sooner and cause more belt Temp
( higher temperature) the best tool will look like the end of the crank shaft that goes into the clutch and you tighten it up like it was going back on the crank and that way you don't hurt the clutch when do you have to use your puller again to remove the clutch from the tool trust me this will save you money in the long run and your clutch will last longer good luck and have a great day.. Bob..
Doesn't anyone use a torque wrench!
When necessary I do. Quite often. However, sometimes i use muscle memory, lmao.
hit with hammer!
Well, that was a waste of time, you DID NOT rebuild the Primary clutch on here.....
Tank for your comment, it's good to know a passable tolerance.
Dude! In 10 min all that friction of a scotch pad will be gone! Just make sure its clean. Your wasting your time...
It doesn’t take much time and the scotch pad does a great job cleaning it. You are probably right it doesn’t do much but it doesn’t hurt. Valid feedback man, thanks.
8 min in amd all we have done is show the parts on the bench, twice... Jesus christ, let's get to work. Oops, 10 min +, still talking... 15 min, im done, still just talking, talking, talking.
It's a pretty long video. The goal is to be in depth. You can skip to the parts you are interested in or you can find a less detailed video of just the main points. Just like you came here, you can also leave at any time. So if this video is not your thing then find one that is, lol. Not all videos are targeted at the same demographic. However, if you know nothing about these clutches at all and want an in depth step by step then you will get that knowledge here.
@AdrenalineJunkieProd please, before you get defensive, take ten min and watch the first ten minutes of your video. I'm 100% on board with detailing the parts, process, and even your sponsorship obligations (I realize you said that they're not sponsored parts), but you're on repeat. I decided to take the time and watch the first 30 min again (on 2x) and stand by my first statement.
Over 11 minutes into the video and you haven’t done a thing but talk. I’m interested but not sure I’m going to sit through almost 2 hours if all you’re going to do is talk.
That's ok. I'm sure there is another video you can watch that is more to the point. Or you can just skip to the parts you want. The title and intro clearly state it's an in depth shop vlog. I appreciate the feedback. It's hard to please everyone.
Painful, I quit
Have a good one man. Thanks for stopping by.
Omg, almost 12min of babbling about nothing, keep it short and sweet and get to what u are doing , people dont have all day to sit thru babbling about other brands
You can skip the parts you don’t like. Think you can do a better job then upload your own video. Clearly states it’s an in depth and step by step shop “vlog” at the beginning of the video. Can’t always make everyone happy. I put a lot of time into these videos, many people seem to enjoy them. If it’s not your thing then that’s cool, you won’t hurt my feelings. It’s the beauty of RUclips. You can upload what you like and you can watch what you like. If you think you can do better then you can upload a video of your own
@@AdrenalineJunkieProd u waste a lot of time on the videos, then putting alot of time into the video. Look at your parts and examine them on your own time. Don't waste ours. When someone is looking for how to take something apart, they can clearly look at their own parts and tell the differences. I clearly see why the views are low. Nobody will sit and watch a indepth how to when u mention the same part 25 times over a 10min step process. Ponder your parts off camera, tell what they do and install, RUclips doesn't need another person who doesn't know what they are doing taking apart a sxs for first time, ill find the right guy who knows what he's doing and thats done it many times and takes it apart and installs it in a 10min video. I can see what's wrong when I take my own stuff apart
@@kwmiked lol… you must live a miserable existence dude. The only person wasting time here is you with these negative and meaningless comments. You should listen to yourself. @@AdrenalineJunkieProd Why does anyone try to demean and excellent video. I love your explanation on the clutch rebuild. Good job.

buy a better impact ------------ you know that cheap tools dont get it (like that junk ( C P ) air wrench
Can you put links for all of the kits and parts that you used in the comments somewhere? I have a 2020 1000 xp4 and would like to use the same kits and parts. My RZR has over 9000 miles on it and I’m not sure what all has been done so I think this would be a good start.
