First Vonnegut book I read. “The purpose of human life no matter who is controlling it, is to love whoever is around to be loved”. That quote sticks with me forever
Whenever I come up against an obstacle, I have a hard time overcoming, my first thought is “Turn the Spaceship upside down”, the classic concept of changing perspective. It always seems to help. Hi-Ho!
It's been a while since I read & reviewed this one, but I remember deciding EVERYONE was used...right down to our whole planet. The satire was thick... I still remember being awed by Vonnegut's description of Mercury...beautiful.
Yeah it's so true that Everyone was being used! Free will was Vonnegut's mind when he wrote the book. I love his description of Mercury as well! I also love the Harmoniums on Mercury!
Loved this video. Love Vonnegut, haven’t yet read sirens of titan but will now be moving it up my priority pile. I love how you read a few quotes. Thanks for making this review
I love this book! Great review! I find the parallels between this snapshot of Vonnegut's brain in 1959 and ridiculous happenings today (specifically actions of Elon Musk) to be almost like an inside joke.
I’m 2/3 through the book right now and I am amazed by how deeply his outrageous situations have touched me. I’ve cried multiple times because the lessons and themes are incredibly poignant if you are looking to understand the purpose of life
Venus on the half shell and Ice 9 of course. Bratigan, Vonnegut and H. Hesse. I've read The Glass Bead Game twice. An excellent read. Read all of Vonnegut's and Hesse's books. It's Steppenwolf time in my life.
I love this book too - I've been doing some page-by-page reviews of it and am almost done. I've got Chapters 1 - 10 posted and would love to talk when they're all up.

Thanks for sharing, Kenny! I should have shared that quote in the video. I love it!
@@samuelpedro4972 You did share that quote in your video! One of my favorite quotes as well.
The way Salo described the story of his people and how they became machine got me mindblowed it was amazing
Agreed. Kurt Vonnegut is by far my favorite writer and Sirens of Titan is my favorite book of his.

My favorite book too. It also caught me in high school, and I also believe that real art can't be explained.
This is the book that started my healing.
Amazing book, hard to review as it's full of so many amazing ideas. Hard to say of a book "my favorite", but this is hands down my favorite book..
this is also my favorite book of all time!
