- After finding out his body betrayed him with a severe cancer diagnosis, William Yank discusses how he was able to overcome a traumatic experience by reaching an acceptance of not only his cancer, but the physical, mental, and emotional toll he was going to face.
William Yank is one of Wabash College's very own rising seniors. In the summer of 2018, his life flipped upside down as he was emitted to the ER under septic shock and a leukemia diagnosis. Two hours away from losing his life, William's body responded to the treatment and rallied. Today, you can find him making RUclips videos that spread positivity and strength in life's darkest times.

I just got my cancer diagnosis and am trying to motivate myself. I will keep in mind the word "surrender" for my upcoming journey.
Very inspiring....I told a family with a cancer to be happy...to be emotionally healthy. Happiness makes one mentally healthy. Let go of all the stresses. Thanks William.
I'm facing that mountain.
Thank you for the guidance 🙏
You are truly amazing
That’s me! Haha

I wasnt able to feel emotions when I got my diagnosis and treatment. I need to learn later. Thanks for sharing, bro, hope you doin good.
This hit close to home. I wasn't nearly as reliant on others or for as long but I can relate and the emotions are so difficult to put into words. I pray you are still doing well.
Wow William! I went through AML at age 19 and celebrated turning 20 in the hospital bed. I appreciate you talking about your story because emotions wise I went through the same thing! Cancer might change your body but it doesn’t have to change your emotional mentality permanently. While our bodies have scars our minds are mending and surviving our trauma. Loved this Ted talk!
