- I start with a very large piece of Mintabie gem opal and go through the process of evaluating and cutting it. The result is a fabulous 83 carat stone, fit for .... somebody who likes large jewelry!
Opals have definitely become my favourite gemstone. I was awestruck by their beauty the first time I saw one.
That is one beautiful stone. You worked magic to bring out all those gorgeous colors. ❤️
You could certainly market your channel more and make some extra cash! You have such a relaxing speaking voice, you are humorous and you share expert knowledge about an interesting subject. And your videos are full of beautiful Opal!
It's great that you share your experiences with us. Thanks again
Thank you for sharing your work!
And we wanna thank you for showing us some beautiful specimens of the most beautiful gems in the world. My gosh I wish I had one. Some day..
As always you a great man .For sure always will support your wonderful work.
Im so addicted watching your vids feel your skill is so wow and your opals are so dreamy
That stone looks AMAZING. I rewound back a few times when you were turning the finished stone just so I could stare at it more! 😂 Beautiful!!
Love love love the blue ridge on the opal💖❤❤
Absolutely beautiful.. I love opals.. I'm sure many people love watching you bring out the best in them. 😊
You are like the physician of opal. As a medical student, I am reminded of the thorough and precise speeches given in my classes when you speak.
That Opal looks great! Thanks for sharing
I never realized my latent interest in Opals - till I came across one of your videos, now I'm hooked! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge & expertise, your videos are just amazing. Now, whether you get rich or not from these Opal vid's is yet to be seen... but for my part, I did "Like" the video, as well as subscribed to your channel ;).
Cheers!
I dont know how I found your videos, but I absolutely love them...they're so fascinating.
Wow that one is stunning thank for sharing
These are magnificent!!
Indeed, Amber, opals have a way of leaving us in awe with their magnificence. Nature's masterpiece, for sure! 😍🌟👏
So beautiful. It's fascinating to watch a master at work!
Very beautiful opal!

It is such a pleasure watching you work and explaining is beautiful
Love your explanations, your videos are truly fascinating!
Your videos are great!
Gorgeous man! Keep up the videos please. I Love seeing how you work the stones with clear and simple explanations of why you make cuts and how to use the wheels. Beautiful results we can all strive for.
Beautiful work thank you for sharing.
Beautiful material and great job. I would love to get to see more of the actual cutting process as well. Watching the movements really helps me build my own skills as a cutter. Thank you for making and sharing these videos. 😀
Pulitzer Opal thanks so much. I really look forward to that. I love your current videos but for those of us that truly want to improve our skills, there is no substitute for watching a real pro like yourself or Justin Thomas in actual action. 😀
Amazing material
Amazing gem my friend
thanks for sharing!!! beautiful piece!
Please make more videos on the finding of the stones, like the mining part or the buying parts or the rough parcel...the tumbling parts and then prices...
Beautiful cabochon.
Pulitzer Opal should make more videos on the complete process..ie, from the unboxing of the parcel to the cabochon....from the opal mining to the saw...the buying of the stones to the studio....and the interaction with the miners to the tumbling...
That is a beautiful stone, nice job, I always click on the thumbs up.
If you play your cards right, you will make a bunch of money from them, and then sell one back to the owner lol.
Great job, love your vids.
Thanks. MARK H.
I would love to know what cabbing machine you use. I love all your videos and have wanted to create some out of some agates that we have locally, but there are so many choices, that I just don't know where the heck to start looking for machines.
beautiful!!!! I love opals!!!!!!
You are very honest man God bless you
You're such a nice man! You're welcome for the support though, it'd be impossible not to. Your creations are beautiful and your tips are so wise. Thank you.
To be quite honest, I watch your videos in amazement. I paint cars, so in doing so I create a layer that I must polish out. You sir, look inside of a stone and pull out a layer that only you can see and if that is not truly amazing, then I do not know what is. Definitely a follower from now on.
Well, you are. Your videos should gain revenue if they have not already. That's what I think. It's just that opals aren't super mainstream, but I think you are standing at the beginning of something huge.
It is understandable. You have your reasons why, and I'm sure we can all respect those. Good talking to you. Will be watching! ☺
Can u include the price u pay and how much your opal is worth when finished...u do a great job sir
Geez...have you got any of these seam pieces for sale? They're divine!
Are you sure you're not Burl Ives LOL, you sound like him, we need to hear you sing the ugly bug ball!!!! Nice vid as per usual mate..... Nice Gem.......
not for the shape, but thanks I learn something from you
Your work really brings out the true beauty of these stones, thanks for sharing. Opal may not be my birth stone, but that's not stopping me from having it as my favorite. Do you have any experience with purchasing opals online? I have browsed a bit on ebay, looking for Australian and Ethiopian opals, but I'm afraid I'll end up with a fake or enhanced stone. Some of the prices, even though it's on bidding, seems too good to be true. I thought they were hard to come by?
Thanks for the compliments. I have bought a lot of opal online. One place to buy is Opal Auctions. My experience has not been good with them and I do not think that there is much of a chance for you to get a good deal from hardly any of the many thousands of sellers. Perhaps you can make a low offer and do alright. Rarely, eBay will have a good deal, but you will have to search long and hard for them. For Australian opal, I have bought from Australian Opal Mines. The owner, Murray Willis, is a good guy and is fair, as well. His prices are acceptable -- somewhat higher than buying from an opal miner, but he will sell "on approval," so if you don't like what you bought, he accepts returns (if you have not altered the opals). The other place to get rough opal is at gem shows. The annual Tucson gem show has lots of opal dealers, but you have to get there on the first day, because the rough opal goes fast.
Hi Donald: Do you ever use 220 g. silicon carbide expanding drums to remove sand and potch? Sinitered wheels seem "chatter" more adding to the potential scratching problems?
Michael - No, I have not used expanding drums, but I know that they are very good. I have not had that much of a problem with scratching overall. When I do get scratches, it is usually because I cut corners on one or more of the steps! Thanks for the comment!
Is this the same rough as the rainbow shield?
That is GORGEOUS!!
stunning
Nature may have made these but once you found them they were Mintabie.
Wow, that final stone is very beautiful.
I feel it would be a shame it cut it though. One large rectangular stone would be gorgeous adorning a beautiful woman's bosom, horizontally aligned, not vertically.
@@PulitzerOpalHi, thank you for responding. I merely meant, since it is rectangular in shape, that it might be attached somehow so that it would hang with the long sides facing up and down, instead of to the sides.
But now that I think of it again.. I think I may be wrong. lol I'm just thinking in my imagination how it might look on a woman's chest.
Your videos are great to watch. You show the process, tips and tricks and the final result!
Did you cut all the stones in the parcel, or just that one! Thanks!
How do you rub the back of the opal thanks
Great guy
Where do you sell your jewelry or stones
What would something like this be worth?
What's price for these opals ?
I always click the like button but for you i do it 3 times. Why 3 you may ask well im not sure why 3 just sounds good.
Where's Sheila pops ? 😂 I enjoy your videos and hopefully you can get rich making videos buddy.
Wow so big...
How much did this sell for or is it for sale? Let me know serious buyer if it is. PM me if you dont want to talk in the comments.
You have a fan :) (y)

You should consider putting together a longer video. I really enjoyed that but could have easily watched another 10 mins of "the making of", so to speak.
Đẹp quá
very nice color, but very bad shape, far from perfect. anyway you are really nice man
All you need to do is make that symmetric . Talking about cutting that into smaller pieces is ridiculous
