Riding bikes through a huge park!! Bike lanes...on the outskirts of Tokyo. Ginko trees!!! A blanket of golden leaves from the Ginko trees!! Ohhh...bamboo trees. What a great place with you two!! Red maple tree are so beautiful! A glimpse into Japanese farm life...while looking for food. This is a lovely video!
The grassy plant looks like one that I have here in the states, called pampas grass. It comes in different colors of the puffy parts on the top, but the grassy parts are quite sharp and if you aren't careful it can cut you. It is quite pretty in the fall though when the fluffy parts on the top are in bloom. (:
I always look forward to your video's , Shinichi your great at what you do .It makes me happy to know that despite this pandemic the Japanese people are able to continue their lives as normal as possible in these video's. And to keep great food alive . 👍
If you like learning about Japanese food, look for an anime on here called "Oishinbo" it's about a group of people who work for a newspaper, and review food I think, but every episode I watch, it's like an education on some aspect of Japanese food.
In the UK (I don’t know about anywhere else) back in the day, the pampas grass was a ‘secret’ symbol used to alert others that you were into swinging! Haha! Swingers apparently planted them outside their houses to let others know!
Such a peaceful and beautiful video. The park is gorgeous. The planted areas fascinating. When you sat down to eat, the sounds of nature were wonderful. Thank you for sharing this outing with us.
The park is beautiful. I don’t know how to ride a bike. I think the red flower is single camellia.. the leaf is shiny like that one. Thank you for that nice tour of the park
Yes, Tsubaki is called Camellia in English. They are the same plant that gives tea leaves, Camellia sinensis, but cultivated for ornamental flowers instead of a tea crop.
Another wonderful walk outside a busy city like Tokio. I've managed to learn how to ride a bike just before I turned 40 years old! It's never too late I suppose😊. I even fell down twice in the process 😳.!! I suppose my skills are good enough for a ride in this beautiful park. Maybe one day... Satoshi said the bikes were like Christmas bikes because of their colours...green and red...those are the colours of the portuguese flag 🇵🇹! Thanks for your video. Stay safe!
I love your videos, a trip on the sofa in times of Covid 😷 a video from the Bonsai Park would be awesome, I like Japanese gardens and bonsai. Greetings from Germany, a "very nice couple and both very attractive"😙
Another glorious day out! Thank you. This is just the most beautiful and interesting place! Now I feel less sad that I didn't make it to Japan (trip cancelled because of Corona, Today is the day I should have been returning home from a 7 week trip) because I wouldn't have known about Showa Kinen Koen! I have now added it to my trip calendar (moved forward a year) and I will definitely be visiting here in 2021. And I'll be staying for the whole day, I'm sure! I will be renting a bike (as there is no traffic I can risk it 😃.) Perhaps you'll both join me 😃😃 How about it? I've written it in for December 1st 2021. By the way the glorious pink flowers that Satoshi photographed are I believe camellias. I wonder if they are related to the tea plant because the Latin name for the tea plant is Camellia sinensis, The leaves looked very like those of the tea plant you showed us and even the flowers seemed similar to me.
Yes those were Camellias- the pink flowers Shinichi asked about. I think they were the ornamental Camellia Japonica. The tea leaf shrubs in the video were Camellia Sinensis.
My son has been there as his school field trip and we have been there as our own picnic. Showa Park, the land itself used to be US military facility for a while, so no wonder it’s a large park in Japan. Thanks for another amazing video. 子供が学校の遠足で、昭和記念公園に行きました。すごく広いですよね。
Lovely park!! The tree with brightly colored leaves is very common in yards here in California. Usually called 'Japanese Maple' and one that turns bright red is favored. I can see three of these in my neighbor's yard from where I'm sitting now. A few years ago we had a sudden big problem with thieves stealing these trees from people's yards and selling them for $$$ at flea markets! Also all us kids in my town learned to ride a bike. I fell a lot, kept trying, then one day...ZOOM! Such fun :)
The tall cream feathered plant, we call pampas grass in the UK. This park is outstandingly beautiful. I love walking or riding through fallen leaves, the sound in nature.
My mom taught me to ride a bike when I was 10 and I'm so grateful because it helps me to go around many places where car is impossible. However I can't ride motorbike which is quite frustrating because sometimes it's easier and cheaper to go somewhere with a rented motorbike than a rented car.
Love the bonsai garden. I learnt to ride a bike when I was little, never got the chance to ride again since then, I think I'm still able to. To answer your buying e-bike question, unless you see a good sale, buy in the next season when weather is warmer. 😊
I've ridden a bike when I was young but never could stop properly LOL. I haven't done it since, I just have a lot of anxiety, also about biking on the road where I live, I don't like the idea.
Thank you for taking us with you. It's so beautiful! I've been working 12+ hour days and it gets dark so early...this definitely made me feel like a long missed walk in the park♡
There is something hauntingly beautiful about Japanese gardens in winter. I've been to Higashi Gyoen in Tokyo a couple of times in November when most of the trees were bare and it was still very beautiful. Makes for an interesting contrast when I visit in summer and compare similar photos I took.
Tsubaki means Camellia in English, I'm only aware of this name because of "Tsubaki Factory" which is a Japanese girl-group under the Hello!Project entertainment company.
too bad about the weather and worst the not so satisfying lunch you had. Maybe this year you could come back and do another video here! This is such a lovely park, worth exploring again. Yes, I do know how to ride a bike unfortunately where I live, it's not like Japan where there are many bike friendly places. 👍🏽😁
The park is beautiful. I've biked through Yoyogi Park with my family but will need to explore this park next time we're able to make it to Tokyo. Thanks for sharing!
Love this park. Its absolutely beautiful in Spring n Autumn . Its a 40min train ride from the city but well worth it. I usually stop at Nishi Tachikawa, which is nearer to the entrance. Take the train back to Tachikawa to spend the daty, lots of places to shop and eat.
I am from Greece, and although most of the Greeks know how to ride a bike, l don't... And l was really suprised when l vishited Japan and saw how bicycle friendly every city was. I am.going to learn how to ride, so l.can rent one next time l visit. It is a great way to go around
What a beautiful, beautiful park. Thank you for taking us along. I really loved seeing the colors, and I appreciated that you and Satoshi showed us some close-up pictures of some flowers and leaves. Oh, and before I forget ... I loved Satoshi's Mickey Mouse cap. :-) I was sorry Shinichi couldn't get his kabab ... maybe another time. Anyway ... thank you for the tour.
the bike ride is serene and lovely to watch. that park still looks amazing even without the leaves on the trees. it is quite mild for this time of year here in the uk. what a shame you couldnt get a kebab. but the food you did get looks delicious.
I love the bonsai area of this park, what is the name of this park? I loved the trees, especially the beautiful momiji! And the flowers of the tsubaki. You two are really in good shape to ride bike in this huge park, would you say it’s about the size of Central Park?
..just when I caught a premier my internet acted up🤦🏻♀️ ..I love all those autumn hues and those bonsais too💚🍁💚 I have always been interested with bonsais wish I have the skill and the knowledge to grew one😁 ..also that kuro yakisoba looks interesting😋
Amazing, amazing, amazing SHINICHI 🌏 This was my style of 📹 video , so much to see and enjoy with breathe taking scenery. As a 🌱plant lover this would be a place to visit. Most importantly this would also be great opportunity to share with the government officials how important it is to incorporate other foreign languages to there signs .So tourist can understand it's not for walking, jogging. ( Which was quite noticeable in the video). A simple sign 🚷like this would be great so we understand . This park has so much to offer : Bike rides only : Food : History : Horticulture Ideal for any tourist who want to venture by bike , relax and unwind. Well done 👍Shinichi really enjoyed the🚲 ride with you and Satoshi Have a wounderful day guys 🍁🍁🍁🌲🌳🌲🌳🌲🌳🍁🍁🍁
I used to ride my bicycle *everywhere* as a kid/teen but it’s been so long since I’ve been on one (over 20 years) I really don’t know if I still know how.
I'm in the US and I know how to ride a bike as did everyone in my family and all my friends growing up. Swimming is what a lot of people can't seem to do in my circle. I can swim, but it is less common. I'm in ATX these days and bike riding is pretty serious here. I don't own a bike right now tho. If I need one I can rent one.
I hope I'm not too late and someone has already answered your question. That plant with the feathery plumes and what looks like thin sharp strands of long leaves we call Pampas grass in The San Francisco Bay Area where I live.
I didn't have much time today so I had to kind of skip watch your video, so my apologies if you answered my question in the video, but I reminded me of something I want to try on a future trip. Have you ever had those deep fried maple leaves?
It could be better to buy your bike while it is colder weather, as it may go up in price in better weather. That's what happens here in the UK, when demand goes up so does the price, but when things are not required so much the price goes down in the sales.
We have Miami MORIKAMI Museum and Japanese Gardens. my first time to visit, was after the death of my 23-year--old Son. my doughtter saw me so badly that she took me, to the Japanese garden, I tell you guys, I could feel my Son moving among the bamboo trees and making me feel that infinite peace that is breathed there. THANKS
Not sure if anyone else has answered this before. 'Tsubaki is Camellia'. Its oil has been used by the cosmetic industry to create hair and facial products.

My younger son only learned to ride a bike two years ago at age 15. He’s was a very strong willed and stubborn young child and simply refused to learn. It wasn’t until a trip to to the French countryside with a friend that he realized it was good to know how to ride a bike. He learned in a few hours and now enjoys cycling!

Yes, I believe it's pampas grass (named for the Pampas region of South America where it is native to).

This park is spectacular. I would be cycling with you and Satoshi, enjoying and admiring the natural beauty :)
Wow. Feels like I just spent a day out in Tokyo! Thanks for the virtual visit. Here's hoping we can visit for real some time in 2021 ...
In the UK (I don’t know about anywhere else) back in the day, the pampas grass was a ‘secret’ symbol used to alert others that you were into swinging! Haha! Swingers apparently planted them outside their houses to let others know!
Such a lovely park. I’d be out there every month. It must change each season so much. So beautiful.
Such a peaceful and beautiful video. The park is gorgeous. The planted areas fascinating. When you sat down to eat, the sounds of nature were wonderful. Thank you for sharing this outing with us.
Guys, this bonsai trees are amazing! I can't imagine that tree that is 250 years old!!

those feather duster-like plants are called 'pampas grass' if I'm not mistaken

Hi! @Shinichi’s World!
This is an Awesome Video!
Have a Great Day! 😊
Hi sweet Shinichi!!! Hi adorable Satoshi!!!Hugs from Arizona!!! 🌵💖🌵💖🌵💖🌵
Rode bikes when younger, but haven't in years. Love these bike videos! It's like being on the bike!! The park is so beautiful!
The "sweeping tree" is called "maiden silvergrass" (Miscanthus sinensis).
Love the bonsai garden. I learnt to ride a bike when I was little, never got the chance to ride again since then, I think I'm still able to. To answer your buying e-bike question, unless you see a good sale, buy in the next season when weather is warmer. 😊

Nature runs her course... Sometimes leaves sometimes bare trees! Both are beautiful !
I wish there was a way to capture images from the video. I'm learning to paint and I think some things you show would be really nice watercolors.
pampas grass is the name of the big bushy stems
Thank you for taking us with you. It's so beautiful! I've been working 12+ hour days and it gets dark so early...this definitely made me feel like a long missed walk in the park♡
Japanese Maple it's called where I live. They are red most of the time.

too bad about the weather and worst the not so satisfying lunch you had. Maybe this year you could come back

Maybe the Kebob guy went to get the crispy fried chicken you mentioned for his lunch. 🤔😂🤣😆
That was a lovely tour and I loved the Bonsai garden. Thank you for that. Someday I will see it in person.
Loved the bonsai garden!
Relaxing! From Colorado, USA. Thx.

Momiji are called acer trees in the UK and they are very popular and beautiful to see! They're one of my favourite trees.

That kuro-soba looks interesting, and everything's better with a little Kewpie drizzled on top!
I love the bonsai area of this park, what is the name of this park? I loved the trees, especially the beautiful momiji! And the flowers of the tsubaki.

I used to ride my bicycle *everywhere* as a kid/teen but it’s been so long since I’ve been on one (over 20 years) I really don’t know if I still know how.
Magical! Thank you!
When I lived in Okinawa, we called the green leaf plant with the tall blooms ¨Pampas Grass.¨
A super nice and calm video like usual! Jusg what I need after a long day of work. Stay safe guys 😊
I'm in the US and I know how to ride a bike as did everyone in my family and all my friends growing up. Swimming is what a lot of people can't seem to do in my circle. I love that they have a food map!
Thank you guys🙂!!..beautifull ...👋👍.
🌾Susuki is called silver grass in English🌾💛
I feel your pain. There can't be anything worse than wanting a kebab but having to settle for something else to eat.
I didn't have much time today so I had to kind of skip watch your video, so my apologies if you answered my question in the video, but I reminded me of something I want to try on a future trip.
Have you ever had those deep fried maple leaves?
I know how to ride a bike...but eversince i had my eye disability i never rode it again...i miss riding a bike and go around my area... 😟😟😟
Those bonsai trees are amazing!! I would like to visit that park! Can you please write the name of the park in the description box? Thank you!
Those clumps of grasses are what we call Pampas grass from South America
that was fun.
It could be better to buy your bike while it is colder weather, as it may go up in price in better weather. That's what happens here in the UK, when demand goes up so does the price, but when things are not required so much the price goes down in the sales.
