Nice footage - id love to surf this break at that size. and also Honolua Bay is on my bucket list in those Islands. But I think i would only spectate at North Shore if it was cooking.
What non-mastery of capturing surfing like this looks like - Drone footage. You lose all perspective of wave height, critical-ness of the sections, steepness of the wave, barrel wideness, etc. If this was taken at water level this would have been much better for everyone.
This guy puts in real time for quality content, but I lived across the street from Ali'i bch park for almost 10, you definitely gain a completely different amount of respect looking at it from water level
@@mattgurin6168 It's quality drone footage, but let's face it, drone footage for surfing is like filming from atop a bluff or cliff. Everything I said is correct and if you surf and understand what the waves in this video are actually like from ground level, you'd agree. Way more critical than it looks in this video. I appreciate people backing up the photog, though.

Thanks for the drone shots!
Incredible videos!! Love the angles!
These guys make it look easy this place is beastie …lots of current.
Howz Benji's hack toward the end, best in the whole video here... cool for Finn that he has Ross Williams as a coach
Beautiful
1:36 You must pay attention to the wave and to the surfers who you must pass through to surf the wave. That's a lot of concentration.
Some ripping going down. Thanks ODL 🤙
Damn that looks fun!!!! Yes boy!!!
This wave is scary, the current get’s too gnarly.

Heavier than it looks even at this size. Haleiwa is a great wave
Eric is right, Haleiwa is plenty heavy. Lots of current on the outside, heaps of water moving all around. Very rippable wave as well
I always had a hard time there. Have to surf it alot to figure it out
Good sessh. Rippin' em up .
Waves don’t have to be perfect to be good
Barrons has been ripping Alii’s for years!
No body surfs haleiwa like John Florence, #1 surfer out at big haleiwa
JJ reads Haleiwa like magic
Yeow
Just like small crap waves only a lot bigger!!!
Plenty nuggets to have out there

Looks like an overrated close out mushburger
For a couch surfer it may look that way
You must be joking.
