Dear Lakewood Ministry, Joel & Victoria, Paul & Lisa & John Gray I just wanted to say thank you for this message today. This morning I had such an intense anxiety attack as I spent time with God as I watched the June 2020 service with Joel & John Gray. I burst into tears as the praise and worship session began and the crying fits continued for a while but subsided as I heard Dr. Paul talk about the Samaritan story. In the midst of my pain Jesus gave me the strength to keep crying out to him and I managed to calm myself down. As I listened to the conversation that Joel and John had it gave me a sense of peace. When Pastor John acknowledged not exactly but within context that despite your race, gender or sexual orientation that Jesus is for you, it helped me feel seen. As a black transgender man I feel like there hasn't been a church family I can call home without judgement. But I have found that place in Lakewood. Pastor Joel and Victoria are really like my spiritual parents, Lisa and Paul my spiritual aunt and uncle, Ps John Gray a big brother. Between that church service and this message I feel like I can move forward towards the goodness that my Heavenly father has in store and let go of my emotionally crippling past I know the calling God has for my life and I'm often overwhelmed at the weight of it but this ministry gives me confidence that God is for me. Thank you Joel & Victoria. Through you, Paul & Lisa, Ps John Gray, the Lakewood ministry and the love of my life I really feel and see God's love for me despite the worlds view of my existence. I declined due to my pre existing health conditions lupus, and stents in my heart. Now me and my children are facing homelessness. I am a single mother with two beautiful children that suffer from autism. Both of my sons are non verbal. I feel all alone in my situation I have no family or friends to help me. I am all alone I will continue to have faith that my Heavenly Father will provide for me and my children please pray for us thank you.
