  • Maybe you are a casual user of Bard, ChatGPT, Poe, Claude, Dall-e, MidJourney or anything like them. Or perhaps you have a high-end AI tool as part of your workplace software suite. Either way, the answers they give you can only ever be as good as the questions you ask and the way you ask them. So, let’s take a simple look at Prompt Engineering - how to write good AI prompts.

AI prompts typically consist some or all of five elements:
    1. A statement of the context
    2. A description of the task or output required
    3. A specification for the output format
    4. Details of any constraint
    5. A set of modifiers that act as a code to further constrain or instruct the AI output

Thank you very much for this innformative video! I know I have to use AI tools more often, it's key to know the way we have to use them. 😊

You really do not 'have' to use these tools - any more than you 'have' to use a screwdriver. The trick is to understand all the ways they can help you do the things that you do 'have' to do - and also to get so familiar and comfortable with using them that the unfamiliarity is no longer a barrier to quick and effective application. Good luck!

I deeply appreciate your thorough explanation and providing examples. I particularly liked your emphasis on prompts being part of a learning process. sometimes I get my desired answer at 5th or 6th try. thanks again for sharing these highly informative videos

You're very welcome, Jasmine. As with all tools, you need to learn how to use it and also be prepared to repeat the job, if you don't get the result you want, first time.

I'm a bit of a lightweight nowadays, can we make it one at lunchtime and tea for the rest of the day?
