Dogs shouldn’t need to use the restroom at 2 am however all dogs are different , just set the time you eat and the dog eats and don’t give the dog food or water before bed and take him or her out before bed.. and your should be golden 🙃and have your sleep. Don’t reward with treats it causes bad habits and may expect a treat everytime

I did teach my service dog to pee on command as when he flew with me in the jet cabin, at stops between flights, I had to go outside the airport to a small grassy area for this purpose and said “Go pee!” And he would pee. Also just let him chew ice chips on plane (instead of water) so his bladder wouldn’t fill up too fast. Then we would have to go back through the TSA line again. 99% of the time the TSA agents let us through the fast line on a stop-over.
I’m getting a newborn dog soon and as soon as it starts to run, I want to potty train it, besides, dogs learn best when they’re still babies! It’s going to be a lot of work, but I enjoy the responsibilities of being a pet owner!!
I'm sure I made a huge mistake here. When she had accidents when she was a puppy, I put her nose in it, smacked her nose, and took her outside. This tactic worked. However, every time my hand went towards her face, she thought I was going to smack her. This went on for 10 years and started as a puppy. She potty trained fast, but when I went to pet her head and she flinched, I felt horrible. I never wanted it to be that way. She would flinch, but knew I would't heart her, but flinched anyway. She's a Golden Lab.

During the night, wake up and take him out. In just a few days, he knew where to go and he would let me know. All associated with, do you have to go patty? Oh yes, he would let me know. Just make sure you keep an eye on your pup. Any sniffing low to the ground in a familiar spot is also a sure sign that he had to go and out he went. The only reason a dog would sniff the ground in HIS own environment is if company had left or he had to go to the bathroom. Other then that, his head was always up high. The key is to always keep an eye on your pup and HE or SHE will let you know that it is time to go potty...this video is lacking in real information and that stupid computer voice does not help one bit.

We've already trained the puppy to use the puppy pads inside the house, as she was way too small to go outside. We've a handful of predators and other dogs about that she's always been timid around and about. So she's gotten bigger and somewhat braver, we're trying to take her to pee and poop outside, but she won't go while she's outside. As soon as she is in the house though, she relieves herself like she held it the entire time and couldn't anymore. It's getting frustrating and tiresome, and we're hoping for some results with this

My alarm clock goes off at 6:30 and I had better have my pup out the back door to pee. It took me 6 months to train my Standard Poodle to go exclusively outside. She learned to use wee wee pads quickly. Once she was trained, she would die before she would go on the floor. I can’t even get her to go in the garage when the weather is bad.

Get a crate keep him in it all night and first thing you do when you let him out is take him outside keep him outside till he used the resroom then bring him back in and repeat everynight or whenever you go out and he’ll get the idea
3 easy step to potty train a puppy; 1st, get a puppy from a breeder that has already started training the pups (my collies have puppies, the puppies go out in the dog house with mum at 2 weeks old, by 4 weeks old i start telling the puppies to do their pee and poo, I praise the pups that then do that 'good girl Tamsy you did your poo', when pups are 6 weeks old they go the night without mum and are in an area where they cant get out, so they learn to go the night without peeing and pooing). 2nd, first thing in the morning take puppy out for a quick play and then to pee and poo, puppies need a schedule, play-food-sleep, they should sleep for 2 hours if you give them 30-60 mins of play, when they wake up its time to pee and poo, puppies will often need to poo more than once after sleep and the food before sleep, dont be fooled into thinking one lot of poo is it. 3rd, if your puppy poos outside in the right area you praise the puppy and give cuddles, if pup poos or pees in the wrong area tell the puppy that bad, bad puppy; they want to please you, so them know either way.

when ever he does go out side be really happy and praise him in a way over the top manner. when he comes inside and goes poo or pee make sure he knows he did something wrong. gently grap the back of his neck and hold his head closer to the poop then what is compfortable for him. make sure he smells the poop and in a stern voice tell him No and Bad dog. he may whine or whimper and make you think you are hurting him and try to wiggle away. he is actully whining because he is upset he made you mad and that he is having to take the punishment (having to get his face really close to his own poop). peeing is harder. you can only disaplin a dog that pees on the floor if you catch him in the act. if you do. say No NO and scoop him up even if he is still peeing and bring him out side. set him down on the grass once outside and say "good dog. yes yes. good boy/girl. yes good boy." this tells your pup that he gets praised when he goes out side and punished when he goes in side. this worked for my dog. just remember to be gentle and never hurt your dog or yell at it. hope this helps

Is my dog stupid or just trying to piss me off we have a Pomeranian who for some unknown reason doesn't get it. We have been potty training for over 6 weeks now, I take her outside for 15 minutes nothing. Bring her inside, she will run to the rug and piss on it. She sleeps in a crate at night and she will go when we take her out. Obviously we can't make her live in a crate. We do take her outside periodically and sometimes she does go outside. We have a playpen where she spends most of her time because we can't let her out. It has an area we put a puppy pad sometimes she uses it sometimes she doesn't. It's carpeted with puppy pads underneath so I'm sure it has the scent of her urine. I'm not about to tile our living room. I have had many dogs in the past, all have learned this very fast, within days, what is wrong with this dog? I have hoped to find the answer on line, the problem is so many people are giving advice that shouldn't, simply repeating the very basic advice that anyone with an IO over 50 should know. I took my dog to his area where I wanted him to go and if they pooped where they wasn't suppose to like in house, I put it in his area, so he went out anytime and would know where to go.
For a first study as a puppy, they do sell grass in patches and it would make it easier for you instead of he/she peeing down the stairs or your leg. Laughs

Huh? Got my puppy at 6 weeks, most sites recommended waiting until 12 weeks to train. Now he's twelve weeks but my puppy is completely unpredictable as to when and how often he goes. Sometimes it's like 3 times inside of an hour, then other times, he'll go for hours without going at all.... This is the 2nd completely impractical guide for house training I've watched.
I have a Norwegian Elkhound and shepherd mixed she is 8 weeks old working with her on all the videos have been watching she has her good days and bad days hoping something will come of this one day just have to keep a really good eye on her everyday cannot ignore not paying attention to your puppy it will all work out eventually just patience just have to pay it attention to their schedule and keep them in the routine it will all work out eventually just have to work out with the little puppy dog it's all new to them

Your first dog is doing what dogs do, letting the puppy know it is his territory. Male dogs do this more than female dogs. The first dog was jealous and didn't want the attention taken away from him.
no its not the breed. your dog is just being a dog and letting your younger puppy know who is boss. I am so sorry i dont know what to do. loosing. your best friend would be so awful. i recomend going to a dog whisperer or a advanced dog behavior corse. this may seem drastic but a would do anything to help my two puppy. please just if your mother does give him away dont give him to a pond or human sociaty because people will learn he is a probem dog and wont want him. and love his probably all he deserves
Get a crate keep him in it all night and first thing you do when you let him out is take him outside keep him outside till he used the resroom then bring him back in and repeat everynight or whenever you go out and he’ll get the idea

3 easy step to potty train a puppy;
1st, get a puppy from a breeder that has already started training the pups (my collies have puppies, the puppies go out in the dog house with mum at 2 weeks old, by 4 weeks old i start telling the puppies to do their pee and poo, I praise the pups that then do that 'good girl Tamsy you did your poo', when pups are 6 weeks old they go the night without mum and are in an area where they cant get out, so they learn to go the night without peeing and pooing).
2nd, first thing in the morning take puppy out for a quick play and then to pee and poo, puppies need a schedule, play-food-sleep, they should sleep for 2 hours if you give them 30-60 mins of play, when they wake up its time to pee and poo, puppies will often need to poo more than once after sleep and the food before sleep, dont be fooled into thinking one lot of poo is it.
3rd, if your puppy poos outside in the right area you praise the puppy and give cuddles, if pup poos or pees in the wrong area tell the puppy that bad, bad puppy; they want to please you, so them know either way.

My puppy pottys when ever i bring him back inside 😑 i alwasy stay with him outside a good amount yet he still never does it out , what should i do😩😤
when ever he does go out side be really happy and praise him in a way over the top manner. when he comes inside and goes poo or pee make sure he knows he did something wrong. gently grap the back of his neck and hold his head closer to the poop then what is compfortable for him. make sure he smells the poop and in a stern voice tell him No and Bad dog. he may whine or whimper and make you think you are hurting him and try to wiggle away. he is actully whining because he is upset he made you mad and that he is having to take the punishment (having to get his face really close to his own poop). peeing is harder. you can only disaplin a dog that pees on the floor if you catch him in the act. if you do. say No NO and scoop him up even if he is still peeing and bring him out side. set him down on the grass once outside and say "good dog. yes yes. good boy/girl. yes good boy." this tells your pup that he gets praised when he goes out side and punished when he goes in side. this worked for my dog. just remember to be gentle and never hurt your dog or yell at it. hope this helps

She will not go in her bed, as mentioned in the video. But as soon as we take her out, she tries to go in the house! We rush her outside, but somehow she takes it back in and will not put her waste out! Her owner just let her go in the house for the first 10 weeks, and now she thinks that is right! Help!

Is my dog stupid or just trying to piss me off
we have a Pomeranian who for some unknown reason doesn't get it. We have been potty training for over 6 weeks now, I take her outside for 15 minutes nothing. Bring her inside, she will run to the rug and piss on it.
She sleeps in a crate at night and she will go when we take her out. Obviously we can't make her live in a crate.
We do take her outside periodically and sometimes she does go outside.
We have a playpen where she spends most of her time because we can't let her out. It has an area we put a puppy pad sometimes she uses it sometimes she doesn't. It's carpeted with puppy pads underneath so I'm sure it has the scent of her urine. I'm not about to tile our living room.
I have had many dogs in the past, all have learned this very fast, within days, what is wrong with this dog?
I have hoped to find the answer on line, the problem is so many people are giving advice that shouldn't, simply repeating the very basic advice that anyone with an IO over 50 should know.
