Yes!! Well explained. That and also that they complained a lot. Other bands didn’t directly complain. They used humor or relatable feelings. Simple just pretty much said “this sucks.” in their lyrics.
I was at warped, 2006? And AFI couldn't play their slot because the singer had to go to the hospital. And so AFI's crowd was waiting and out walked simple plan. It was really sad because they got booed beyond anything I have ever seen. But they played through it and I respected them a lot for it. AFI played later but man . . . The hate for si.ple plan was crazy. Good chsrlotre had a ton of haters also
The only reason I have any disdain for Simple Plan is because they tricked me into thinking I liked Blink-182 because I thought that all of their songs were actually from Blink-182 (as well as Jimmy Eat World, Yellowcard, and other bands of that type).
This was a few years into the commercialized punk we all know and chucks went from 20$ to 50+ overnight cuz every prep in the school was buying a brand new pair every week.
Back in early 2000s kids listened to this shit and thought they were punk. Mean while I here was a select few who were listening to classic punk music and hardcore punk music it was a whole you’re a loser thing pop punk ain’t punk ordeal. Good times
I played a few warped tour dates in the East Coast the same year. I had no idea who Simple Plan was as I was into the heavier punk stuff but I do remember one night after the show they would have post gig BBQs (this evening the grillmaster was NOFX's El Hefe) and I was in line and Pierre tapped me in the shoulder and introduced himself. I had no idea who he was so I was pretty dismissive and sure enough a few weeks later I saw him on MTV. Good times
They felt like an inauthentic industry concocted answer to Blink 182

I love simple plan! One of my favorite bands growing up.
Simple plan puts on a great show live. I saw them open for The Offspring and it was amazing
I saw them recently in concert and they killed it!
They are shockingly good musicians. So clean live.
I love this band, simple plan.
What's sad is they even did this to MCR
People would throw stuff at them on the stage while performing
That’s a shame because love em or hate em, MCR is legitimately talented
@@stevenburrito7032their music isn’t for me but I still like a few of their songs. Hate their fans tho.

Jimmy Eat World and Yellowcard are leagues above Blink-182 and especially Simple Plan.
I mean, Mark Hoppus was featured (though not credited) on I'd Do Anything, so that could almost count, ay?
They put on such an amazing show! Went to their concert recently with my sisters and mom. Now my moms a big fan too! 😂
Love Simple Plan, I listen to heavy metal, punk and ska but Simple Plan is top of my list. Still listen to their music now
Didn't do much SP. I went from Bad Religion, Social D, to Fugazi and a few other bands out of the D.C/Northern VA punk scene. Go-go at its best!
Simple Plan is my number 1 top favorite bands of all time 🎉
Ahh that reminds me of a peach tea ice cream machine

I love simple plan, but Green Day was my intro into punk, I still love pop punk but I am getting into different genres as well
Because Of Double D On Bass Is Not Around
He looks like my English teacher wtf
I hated them😂😂😂😂 i was your typical static x,korn, slayer, and so on haahahah but in secret i listened to simple plan😂😂😂
I hope you and your fingerless gloves have moved on
I was the exact same way as you!!! Well, apart from the listening to them part...
Noooooo the gateway was rancid

Canada used to produce Rush, tragically hip, Frank Marino. Then it starting spewing out Simple Plan, Nickelback and Bieber. 😮
Old and stubborn. Shocking!
Warped tour was garbage
