Inspired by userxblade's mashup ( • Cytus 2 - All Characte... ), I decided to try my hand in other combinations of the tracks.
Combinations used are shown in the video by diplaying currently active themes.
PAFF's theme makes a nice base track to pair up with the others.
Despite their relationship, it goes really well with NEKO's.
Didn't really match what I had in mind due to my lack of the skills to do so, but I think it's decent enough as it is.

What's ironic is that PAFF and NEKO's Theme song perfectly fits together like a puzzle piece.
They used to work together but Neko left due to not being credited in PAFF's songs

The mix of PAFF & NEKO is so good that it is literally screaming the fact they would become best friends ever in later plots, especially when you look at the story at version 1.6, it really starts going to look like that.

IMO Joe's theme being jazz feels really different sound pattern-wise compared to others. If I were to include him in the next version, I'm not sure who is best one to pair him up with, and having him go solo doesn't sound like it'll go well with the flow 🤔
But I'll try when I have the time.

@@kirruri2349 I've played around with the track from the 1.7 trailer, and since it's basically paff 2.0 with a little bit of robohead so it fits in pretty easily. Joe is still my main concern, I haven't found a satisfying flow to his theme.

@@mcguevs125excluding paff as base track, conner and maybe xenon is the only one who's capable of true solo for me, and fadeout endings is something I want to avoid. I'm putting him in the middle with someone for now. Best flow so far but might still be off.

It's good~ but Cherry‘s sound(my favorite) is a bit too small.
My bad. The volume of the source file I have for cherry's is smaller than the others to begin with, and I didn't do any volume adjustments to it.
EDIT: trying to increase her track volume made it sound kind of weird :/

Too much paff, not enough robohead. I still enjoyed it though. Good effort.
paff's works as the baseline track,
neko's and cherry's helps paff's adding little bit more as the base,
xenon's is a good middle part,
conner's makes a nice buildup alone,
robohead's didn't seem to fit anything other than as the "end climax", hence why i only put him there.

Personally I think robohead's track has more than just a climax vibe and could work a bit like neko's. Other than that, I agree with what you said about xenon's and Conner's tracks. Really good job.

Why is there symbolism relating to the story in a fan-made mashup?
what do you mean?
PAFF is the first musician you play as.
NEKO pitches in after saying she helped compose one of her songs.
She’s then replaced by Cherry, but then PAFF fades and NEKO returns with Xenon, symbolizing the mutual relationship Cherry and NEKO have with him.
That’s about all I could find though.
It also ends with PAFF and NEKO who were the two that were affected by Æsir, and then PAFF takes the stage as she disappeared completely.
well... must be pure coincidence.
I only pick some nice-sounding combinations and try stitching them together in a way that makes them "flow" as one full track.
And I did say PAFF's really fits as the "basic" sound since while it sounds good on its own, it also goes well combined with anyone else (except Xenon, different drum pattern), hence why I used hers the most.
Yeah, I may just be looking too deep into this.
