I love her performance! I deeply regret not watching the show ☹️. I am now doing a catch up by watching the clips here in RUclips though tbh, I have watched the movie twice and the live musical with Elliot Hannah as Billy on it. I love both! I hope it comes back to West End. Thanks for this clip!

when she says "he was a complete..." and you are sure she is going to say "gentleman", just to have the harsh reality thrown at you

Was it this actress who played grandma who recently died? :(

Why was the last man she danced with so harsh to her at 3:11? I believe he was the bartender that was about to kick her out "in the morning" coz' the bar was closing n'all. However, with her "being sober" I see no reason she would misbehave, therefore no reason for him being so rough. Or was that the fact she was "waking up" from her daydream into the painful reality, realising the times are all gone, her being old n'all and him being dead?

Martin Páleník In this song, I think the grandma is going through her past with her husband - a time where it wasn’t illegal for men to beat their wife - basically when times for women was shite with no vote, no custody over their children if they left, no real right to divorce - the women belonged to the man. The grandma is talking about when her husband was drunk and when they danced, everything was good and ‘fairytale-like.’ But in the morning, they were literally sober and he became the abusive man which was typical of the time.
