A man walk pass them and called them a homophobic word and Connor got angry and attack the man when he wouldn't apologise. The man the got the better of Connor for a bit and started beating him before Connor manage to get the better of him and beated him relentlessly. (Sorry for the long answer but I wanted to give you the whole picture).
i'm not sure why exactly she did it - maybe because of the normal speech , maybe because of the ' not dying ' part ( there's a lot of murders in the show ) . but she's definitely not homophobic , she is in fact queer herself . pansexual , i believe ? not sure - definitely not straight , she had a storyline with a woman .
