There used to be some form of primitive satellite radio or something that groceries stores had, and one station played all the lastest hip hop. I remember when this song came on, all of us in the store (mostly young males, all into hip hop) all LOST OUR FKN MINDS!!! We were all bugging out at how crazy this new Biggie song was!!! • @youtubeviolatedme7123
      @youtubeviolatedme7123 3 года назад +6

      Many consider this piece to be an example of rhyming at its peak.
      While it wasn't Biggie's biggest hit (no pun intended), it will always remain my favorite from him, because this is where Biggie displays what made him a distinguished rapper; this is where Biggie flaunts the amazing control he has on his flow. It's simple yet elegant.
      As rap becomes more complex, the rhymes lose the simple elegance it had in the 90's. And while it would be stupid of me to deny that hip-hop and rap have evolved greatly past this, I firmly believe that the smoothness in these rhymes has never truly been surpassed by any other rapper. I don't think even Biggie himself could beat this if he was still alive today and had been making music during the years we lost him. I genuinely think this is his magnum opus.

      @@keyscored3710 My friends are all really into rap so I've listened to quite a lot of it, so far the only two purely rap songs I like are this one and "Rap is a mans soul". Part of my indifference to most rap songs is that I prefer music that has a strong melody and rap is mostly about beat and rhythm. I don't hate rap, I just look for different things in music.
