    “I’m a runner and I’m good with being me” loved that line. Keep being you, love the personal feel, the videography, and the “just being you” energy you bring in every video. You really stand out from the cookie cutter reviews. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you

    It's true about shoes needing to give confidence! I have some 'dead' pairs on my shelf that really did break my heart... No need to apologize about being hyped up about a shoe. It's honestly the best part about being a runner. Shoe hype is so REAL!

    Bought my pair Mach 6 couple weeks ago and ran 3 times in them a total of approximately 20 miles. Suffered knee aching for 24 hours after each run and by third run the first twinges of shin splits. Stopped running in them and went back to my Mach 5’s this week and all previous weeks pain gone. Can only put it down to the new midsole on the 6 too soft for me. Fortunately Hoka have an excellent 30 day try and return policy. Thanks for another great review Aubrey.

      Oh man… that’s really bad to hear and sorry for the experience. That’s the good and bad side of running and running shoes… we all have different experiences in these shoes.
      I’ve always been a sucker for cushioning and in fact I’m running a half marathon tomorrow in the Nike Invincible 3.

    just got these, my first true “daily trainer”, if you’re on the fence and you need a shoe for the faster side of your easy runs bite the bullet, oh my god the bounce and the jump from the shoes are so exhilarating it’s a dream to run fast in them

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  7 месяцев назад

      I always fear coming across as a fan boy but when people comment like this, others start to see that I’m not just caught up in the hype. This is an outstanding daily trainer

    I absolutely love my Mach 6. First Hoka shoes I’ve had and I’m smitten. I have to resist using them all the time and tempted to get another colourway in them. Fantastic shoes.

  • @FenboyTim

    Spot on, and in agreement. I have 50km in mine and can’t fault them so far. It’s saved me spending £180 on Saucony ES4’s so long as the midsole continues to feel as good as it currently is. A very quick shoe but probably wouldn’t take it above 10 miles or so…

      At the end of the day we will all have different preferences but just like you, this shoe will be on many people’s lists. Its a great shoe for sure

      😂😂😂 let me know how you find them… I’m genuinely pleased about these shoes especially for the kind of runs I’m doing… they are genuinely great at their designed purpose but also can be called on for other runs. As for the socks… the miss are by a company called Monkey Socks… check them out

    Is 'gussetedness' a word? If not, if should be 😁 Jury still out on Hoka for me. Like you, I own 2 pairs of Rocket X2 because I love the shoe so much but sold my Mach X as they felt dead and made my feet numb. Don't think I'm prepared to risk £140 (although that is a great price) on the Mach 6 and can't seem to find a use case behind buying the Cielo X1. Another superb video though Aubrey!

    Great video! I watched your 10k 50 minute video loved it! I am running my first 10k in late June in the states. Would you recommend wearing the Mach 6 for race day as well? Or would you recommend something like the Cielo x1? Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

    Ordered these but am sending back unfortunately. Hoka just have some weird, narrow oblong shape which just don’t suit me. Don’t have wide feet at all but too narrow across forefoot and digging into side of foot. Exactly as I found with other hokas I’ve tried (and returned). Even my adidas takumi sen 8 are wider/more comfortable! Shame as I was really looking forward to getting these.

      Sorry to hear you didn’t get along with them. That’s the thing with shoes and running, it is high personal so not everything that works for that guy works for the other. What shoes work for you?

    I know you don't care about foams and names.., but please note this. regular EVA foam is basically the same formulation from the 1970s, and I don't honestly know how shoe companies feel like they can get away with it any more (though they use "their" formulation).
    Super critical EVA needs to be the standard now for running shoes, bare minimum. if its not super critical I pass on the shoe most of the time, because I know me.., and I will bottom out the shoe quickly. Peba (pebax) is easily the best out.., and we are a ways down the line, until the chemical engineers find something better.., but I know they are definitely working on it.
    also good you passed on the mach 4, and 5.., because if you are over 78kg.., ( I am making no assumptions).., you can go ahead and subtract 125 miles of life of of the shoe.., they were fine for me up until I got about 225 miles (362km).., and they were toast.., started wearing them to the gym for training.. hoping these are different.

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  7 месяцев назад

      Love this… it’s a great point indeed. When I say about not caring about the names I mean what the companies call their foams as opposed the type of foam it is.
      As for the weight… I’d love to be at 78kg for sure and that’s the plan but I’m currently sitting at 84

    In referencing how you previously reached out to fellow Malian & Hoka sponsored runner Hellah Sidibe who advised you on a previous model Hoka shoe, was that an effort (albeit disguised) of disclosure this shoe & video is Hoka sponsored content? I ask because it's kind of odd how in this video you tell us exactly how and who provided you the Bondi 8, but at no point in this video do you do the same for the origin of this shoe. When you say "please trust me", that cuts both ways, no? Is this video sponsored content?

    • @AubreyRunning
      @AubreyRunning  7 месяцев назад

      No sir… I have never produced sponsored video on my channel. It’s a good point to make that I will need to clarify through a disclosure that this shoe was provided to me for review but never have I produced a sponsored video. That I would definitely clearly disclose
