Nobody says slices are no good in pickleball. They generally aren’t good to use as drives because they float. But a hard slice on a return can be tricky to handle. Same as a sliced drop that just clears the net. Maybe you’re thinking of sliced returns that are high floaters 🤷🏻♂️
Her slice is indeed rare and incredible. I play a lot of pickleball and see more people have trouble with a slice return than a top spin return. That’s at the 3.0 to 4.0 level though.
@@Goofymonkey11it’s not really about floating it’s about people able to use the backspin as their top spin and ripping a dipping drive. I’d say it’s more of a problem in the men’s game where guys can drive it harder. But still can be effective nonetheless.
@@Goofymonkey11you haven’t been listening then. Notice how humberg is now one of the only who does it, because opponents have been adding topspin to the backspin and creating an insane level of topspin on 3rd drives
Just based on the player composition between these two teams alone..... AD Men vs. NJ5s Men ---> Edge goes to AD Men AD Women vs. NJ5s Women ---> Edge goes to NJ5s Women It all comes down to the mixed doubles matches. Both teams are really good, so this is a fun match to watch regardless of the victor.
I assume it's like most other sports: if you can't conclusively tell that a fault didn't occur (or that ball wasn't out, as the case may be) then they don't overturn what was called live. Given the angle of the slow motion at 10:26, the edge of his shoe may have been on the line as he landed, but you can't see for sure.

Yes...FLASH!!
They need to make Close Call Replay a permanent thing. Beer City Open had such great line replays which made the game better. Now it's not clear
Why doesn’t the opponent practise returning Humberg’s slices? It’s eating them alive. Yet people keep saying slices are no good in pb.

Her slice is one in a million. I wouldn't fall into the trap of thinking if it works for her, it could work for me.

So how high can you toss the ball on a serve in MLP because Howells toss is literally chest high.

Why obfuscate the playing field with greed ads
They certainly isolated Jorja. Poor Tyra. But that’s the game if you want to win I guess 😁
Tyra needs to practise returning slices

10:49 where was the foot fault on howells?? the refs never get these calls right. it’s crazy

Why is the score so high?
Cause that's the format for MLP, instead of being traditional. It's rally scoring to 25 win on your serve.
Its like tennis but worst
What the hell is this
