Many places r overpriced. It is not about the strength of the buildings alone the environment is also important. Garbage pile up bad roads are a plenty. Security is also a major issue, when you call the police no body responds. The night noise is also unbearable in many places in JA. I have real estate in Richmond Estate that I am happy with.
Does this happened in every part of Jamaica tho? So it appears alot of you live in the foreign land and think your safe re all you mentioned above but your not even a second class person but 4th or fifth.problems dey everywhere.but look at it this way.any time you took vacation,is Jamaica you end up...SMH...whenever Jamaican people wants to show off on thier neighbours and friends, its always back home.cant make this up.
Pricing is always a factor of supply and demand, tho many other countries have policies that prioritize having their own citizens own their land/real estate, vs Jamaica’s approach of always selling to the highest bidder.
@@craigmillington1258there shouldn’t be a need to put down anyone who points out the difference in municipal services in St Thomas vs Florida. If it’s your POV that having a nice view is more important than availability of decent roads, crime, police availability, fire, ambulance/hospital, public schools, electricity, running water, sanitation, etc are on average better in Ja or should have no relevance, then you are entitled to your opinion. The best way to preserved the status quo anywhere, is to defend it. Thank God for having created the sea and mountains to sell Jamaica. Each place has their pros and cons when it comes to Mother Nature. Both Ja and FL face hurricanes. FL doesn’t have to look to Ja for aid to repair infrastructure after hurricanes or earthquakes.
its always good to own a home in Jamaica but the average home is out of reach for the average Jamaican and that's a fact, are saying houses in Jamaica is REASONABLLY priced ?
Some of the house prices for some simple designs and tiny cookie cutter homes are beyond ridiculous. However there are some like the great house designs that are worth the price.
Lovely view. I agree that if you have any thoughts of owning a property in Jamaica and specifically St Thomas, its the time to buy. I bought in York in 2020 and the values have tripled so far and increasing.
Yes guys,it's wickedly seriously!"expensivvvvv in Jamaica, but the most serious concerns is crime, not able to purchase where your heart is,now proooomoting gated, what quality of life is this, living some where consistently in fear, too much iron frame around houses like prison/cells,from my observation. Nevertheless ,Jamaicaaaa is beautiful....,Just make everywhere safe, peace out.
It's like these people think of jamaica than less than america when they say a jamaican house shouldn't cost as much. You can't even pay for insurance in Florida right now
Hey guys. I value Jamaican houses, South Florida homes are concrete block though the building code changed after hurricane Andrew. Jamaica is an investment nothing like home
In relation to your comment regarding prices of homes in Florida vs Jamaica. It is the fact that you have a higher disposable income in foreign. So the expectation is that you would have more money to spend in foreign. I feel their concern is more of many Jamaicans who wouldn't be able to afford it, because So many don't have these type of income
That is my main concern as well. Aside from a very small percentage of Jamaicans who have the jobs or old inherited money, the target customers appears to be persons who either don’t live in Jamaica or are not Jamaicans.
I have properties in the US. I would be annoyed if someone thought I shouldnt get the money I wanted for them, but Im not so far removed that I dont have empathy for the people who would like somewhere nice to live and work really hard, but cannot afford it. Its a tough situation.
For the people saying real estate is expensive , yes it is from a buyers perspective, however, if you were the seller of a property you invested in 20 years ago and is offered the same price for it today, would you happy? think about both perspectives, its the growth potential that makes real estate attractive to invest in the first place.
Where are the resources such as good medical care Ambulatory services in emergencies good roads everywhere not just some places Yes the home might appreciate but if I retire and live in JA and get sick Will an ambulance be at my home in 3 minutes yes or no Period
Can’t compare Florida with Jamaica, in Florida we get stove , fridge, microwave, hot water, washer, dryer,AC,landscape sprinkler system when you buy a house not just wall for millions. The contractors in Ja too greedy . Cabinets and tiles are normal thing. in ahouse. No good road to drive my GLe except the toll road . I love Ja and have multiple properties down there but prices doesn’t match what you’re getting for your money . Don’t compare Fl. to Ja with real estate
hey there love your work by the way joyful to watch can share some knowledge am sure you have how can I purchase a home with the equity from my old mortgage now that I have over 95% paid here in Jamaica
We cannot pay attention to folks in the peanut gallery, 3 mil in Ja 6 mil abroad and dont forget the foreigners who call Ja home. I will keep buying what I can before I get sent home lol

I hope you listen to what they were saying, the import cost of bringing things into Jamaica for a house is ridiculous compared to us with no import cost, so you are correct, everyone in general should stop comparing Jamaica to overseas, things are much harder to get here and cost way more
Beautiful, even the wild flowers are beautiful and pretty,I hope whoever buys this land will keep the flowers 🌹
Another issue some Jamaicans have is these unfinished monstrous homes in their neighbourhoods.

💯Amenities are VERY important.

Very nice view
The ones who have negative comments are the ones who can't afford Jamaica. My lot in 2016 was 5 millions now 20 millions.
hmmm
