- This is our last recorded voyage of our Austin 7 before we sold up for an Alvis TA21.
A quick round trip to the petrol station from Clapham through Ingleton and back, as well as some bobsleigh manouvres to enhance the weight balance on the corners...
Accompanying tune is "My Little Baby Austin Seven" by Clarkson Rose
The accompanying music was totally apropos. Congratulations on finding it.
Great video.
Brilliant
They don't make cars like that anymore, do they?
A-ii!! Keep to the left! You terrifying man.
Just purchased one 1926 , almost identical . Do you know if you can " move " the fuel tank ?
Do you still have it? If so why did you want to move the tank?
@@kioskcarl ..... you do know where the tank is ??? ...... in the 1923 to 1930 ' s it ' s in the engine bay ...... OK ., I may have a death wish now and again ...... but a petrol / fuel tank on the front end of a light car is just a bit too !!! Yes ..... I still have it ..... even if in London it 'cos me £ 160 / month to garage ...... but ., the " tank moving " is to improve the safety .... ie I will leave the " box " in situe ..... but put in a small unit ... further back .. and may have to install a pump ... etc..etc
Who's that music from?
It's a old British comedy track from the 1930s by Clarkson Rose :-) open.spotify.com/track/7cmbIfCD8SZYmbbIX7D9LV?si=K4zgSsMCS9iSxMoKEpWYeA
nice car but what MPG can it get? the engine seems small so it should get a fairly good MPG.
Believe it or not, I have read from many sources that the Austin 7 can achieve around 45 MPG, 50 if you drive really economically. It's right up there with today's economy cars!
+Pope-Eye cool stuff. good little car. my dad owned one ages ago and i want one so that he can ride around with me in it. that or im just going to build myself a little mochette pedal car with a 125cc engine in it so i can get 100mpg. pedals will just be so i can climb big hills.
