  • Peles castle in Sinaia is a perfect stop on a train journey north out of Bucharest. Most people travel straight through to Brasov and intend on going to Bran Castle which is classically known as the home of Dracula. In our opinion, Peles castle offers a bit more.

Cool vlog, happy to see tourists in Romania, and hopefully we'll see more and more haha.
Romania used to be a pretty developed country a few decades ago. We were between the first to have electricity and street lights in Europe, had a lot of trade routes and industries. Sadly, those few decades of communism rolled back a lot of our status and economy and sent us back making us the black sheep of Europe :(. Things are changing though, there are international companies making headquarters here everyday, we are a lot safer than 20 years ago, we solved most of the stray animals problem (i remember, back in the 2000s, you would literally have groups of 20 stray dogs running after/biting you if you took the wrong street), we have one of the fastest internet in the world (most regular people in cities now have 1gbps fiber) which is very cheap and (mostly) reliable, and so on... We still have problems, sure, but what country doesn't xD?
I just wish more people would see the beauty, the history, the culture, and not just a poor communist shithole filled with gypsies... It's strange how a lot of people that never even heard of Romania come here and then they fall in love with it... I personally know people (germans, americans , australian, even a morrocan guy haha) that came here as a joke (or for a short trip), then stayed for weeks and then shortly after bought a house and moved here :D. Most of them found themselves one of dem pretty romanian girls and wifed her up but hey, details, am i right? hahaha
You two make such a lovely couple, not to mention, you're hot af 🥵🥵🥵 :))))). Best wishes!

I hope we are showing the beauty of Romania through our videos! Our plans were originally only for about a week and we ended up staying for a month traveling from Bucharest to Cluj-Napoca with a few stops along the way. There is a lot to love about each city we went to and we tell people to travel there to this day! Beautiful country. Beautiful people. Beautiful food. What more could you ask for? Thank you for watching!

@@SOSASATSUNRISE Yes, you do show the beauty... All we ask for is an honest portrayal xD. If it's shit say it's shit, if it's good say it's good. So many people now are soooo insane and radicalized either only seeing the best and worshipping it or only seeing the worst and hating everything. Good luck on your travels and maybe we'll see you here again some time :P.

RON is the code, like USD for Dollar. the currency is named LEU (lion) singular, LEI plural

3:00 so, the currency is kind of weird. The national currency is LEU which translates to lion. Lei is the plural form of Leu. Some prices (for electronics, cars, houses) are in Euros usually because it's simpler with the EU etc. (when we buy a car or a house we actually think of the price in Euros instead of Lei, crazy right?) and most Romanians can kind of use RON/USD/EUR interchangeably... If you go to a small shop or someone on the street they might take EUR or USD instead of Lei, with a not so great exchange rate haha (1 USD is about 4,5 lei and 1EUR is about 5 lei)...
You will often see RON and sometimes even ROL in menus etc. The RON is just the international currency abbreviation like USD=US Dollar, RON=RO New, and ROL=RO Leu. We've had some currency changes and we went from ROL to RON... They are pretty much the same but we've dropped 4 zeros to be closer to USD/EUR prices... Before, let's say a bread was 10 000 ROL now it's 1 RON. A lot of Romanians, especially old people, refer to the old Leu when they talk colloquially. For example they will say: give me 1 000 000 Lei which in RON would be a lot of money (around 210k dollars?) but they actually mean 100 RON (the new Leu). Hope that makes sense and cleared everything up xD.
    Love and kisses from Bucharest!

We read it Lei like in english "Lay" ...maybe this will help You ... And this is the official name of the curency ...when we did, some 15 years ago, the denomination of the curency IT appears the short name or the abbreviation of the curency in "Ron" Something similar to dollar- USD...but everybody uses the terms Lei( plural) or Leu(singular)

The N in RON stands for Nou (new) to differentiate it from the old currency which was abbreviated ROL. This change happened like Cristian said 15 years ago because they wanted to remove 4 0s from the currency numbers.

Corvin castle is also amazing both Corvin and Peleş have been used in movies. Also guys pay attention when crossing the street and double check all the time. In Romania unfortunately it happens very often that people are getting hit by cars (sometimes even police cars) when crossing . Romania has the highest number of car accidents in Europe.
